Works perfectly
I purchased this item for my Bose Soundock Mk1 and it works perfectly well, just plug this into the dock, plug the other end into any device with 3.5mm stereo output, switch everything on and away you go, don't forget that this device only provides an audio path, so the Bose remote will only function as an volume controller. This must be the simplest way of adding an Aux input to your classic soundock, which still sounds absolutely amazing. My first impressions are that this item seems to be made quite well, it doesn't feel cheap and if looked after I would assume it should last a while.

Well that was short lived!
So I start this of with really positive feedback!i have a old iPod dock in my car (it's a tad retro) and as you can expect it's a bit obsolete so wanted a headphone jack in the car to listen to my music. Went for this one primarily because although it's not exactly cheap it seemed a reasonable price compared to the other £18 option. Cutting it short a bit the first drive was amazing sound was chrisp and there was no distortion. However then it went downhill, the plastic housing of the cable (the actual port not the wire) randomly collapsed as I was driving along. Not much I can do about that but the cable still worked the following day I littelly turn a resoably sharp corner and all the sound dies on one side of the car....2 mins up the road all the wires randomly snap from the 'mother bored' whatever you call it and this the end of that. Even with my drastic attempts of ducktape solves everything and then soldering it seems dead. Shame really as it was looking so good but hey maybe I just got a dodgey one?

The product itself works fine with my old bose station which doesn't charge iPods ...
The product itself works fine with my old bose station which doesn't charge iPods either, but the plastic housing round the small circuit board came off within a week and didn't seem like it even seen a hint of glue to hold it together. So I super glued the housing back together and wrote down the sequence of wires so if it does snap completely i can solder it back together in the correct order. But apart from that it works great.

Turns old style ipod dock into an ordinary wired audio input
Stand by with superglue - the housing on the lead fell apart at my first touch, but a few dots of superglue & clamping it with clothes pegs for a few minutes solved the problem. It does work, adding an extra audio input to Bose, Teac etc.NB. the audio connection on mine doesn't activate immediately - something in the connection path takes a few seconds to initialise, but it isn't really a problem. I wanted it because I ran out of audio inputs. Most people will probably want a Bluetooth adaptor instead - to cast music from a phone.

It works
I had tried previously to buy something to allow me to connect a more modern device to my Bose sound deck which could only use my creaking iPod. This cable works, but it means the original remote can only change volume, not tracks. I have it in my garage and can now have some excellent sounds while I build or botch something. Thanks for producing a good product at a fair price that meets expectations. You can't ask more than that.

Poor built quality or material.
I use Bose Lifestyle v25. The sound amplitude is degraded via this converter 30 pin to 3 mm jack. The volume has to be 2x times when connected via the Bluetooth converter (iPhone Music), compared to when the Bose system be played from TV.

Works but buzzy
Fits OK and works but buzzy when used to connect 3,5mm jack on record player connected to Bose Sounddock Mk1

you still need to plug the phone in somewhere else to charge but I knew that would be the case and so after much searching I can
I bought this so that I would be able to use my iPhone 5s on my first generation Bose Soundock, all I can say is it works perfectly, you still need to plug the phone in somewhere else to charge but I knew that would be the case and so after much searching I can now continue to use my excellent Bose soundock and not have it sitting around like a white elephant.
