I also enjoyed the writing style, which is straightforward and direct. The book will guide you step-by-step through the planning of your renovation and help you avoid costly mistakes.I also heartily agree with enlisting a professional especially if you are contemplating anything complex. Even though you may be able to handle the planning, during construction they will be able to help guide you through the stress and mess of that process.

My wife read through this real quick but did not find it terribly useful.

I've been dreading the idea of getting into a big remodeling project like the kitchen and, other than changing a lightbulb or unclogging the toilet, I'm not much of a handyman.However this book makes the process very easy. The author knows his audience and knows what he's talking about. I'm ready to tackle my kitchen remodeling.

It is a really good aid to those nervous about doing taking the plunge and are overwhelmed by all of the information out there in the blogosphere. Great read!

Nothing new in here that has not already been widely available. Very disappointed. Don't bother.
