Fine temperature adjustment in between the step settings is great for getting the right pan temp.
Having my kitchen renovated and needed a nice compact solution for my temporary kitchen. Works great so far.

Can Control The Temperature By Degrees or By Low - High. Cooks Fast and Easy Cleanup.
I ordered the Nuwave Gold Precision Induction Cooktop because I was looking for an extra burner for those nights I didn't want to mess up the stove top and when one or more the burners on our electric stove goes out (we've had at least 7 go out on two or three different electric stoves). I also was curious to see how well an Induction Cooktop works. The last few years I keep hearing and reading about how much better induction cooking is compared to the more conventional cooking on gas or electric burners. The 12" Nuwave Gold Precision Induction Cooktop comes with a Duralon 10.5" Ceramic Frying Pan and Instruction Booklet. We had the cooktop now for around three months and both my husband and I have cooked on it and we find we are cooking on it more and more and the electric burners on the stove less and less. We really like the Induction Cooktop. Reasons why we like the Induction Cooktop:1. It does cook faster than more conventional electric and gas burners.2. Instead of only being given low - high temperature controls, the Nuwave Induction Cooktop also gives you temperature controls by degrees so you can better control the temperature you are cooking your food at.3. Easy to clean up. No electric burner coils or gas burner covers to clean around. Just a flat cooktop surface that pretty much stays cool even while cooking so you don't have to clean up food that is stuck and burnt on to the cooktop.4. Remove pan from burner, program temperature stays for a little while but it stops heating. If pan doesn't return to cooktop, it will 0 temperature out and basically shut itself off. What We Don't Like:1. Duralon Ceramic Induction Pan has developed some dark black spots in the center of the pan that causes the food to stick sometimes in those spots. (Yes, we only use plastic/nylon cooking utensils with the pan and clean the pan with warm water and dishwashing soap).2. You can't use just any pot or pan on the cooktop. It has to be a pot or pan with a flat bottom made of metal like stainless steal or cast that can be magnetized because induction cooking uses magnetization to to heat.

A lower power, countertop alternative
Summary: Ordered this for times that the wife wants to whip up a small snack. The induction top will heat up much quicker than the conventional range top burner. Previously reviewed a similar unit, so will compare to that one.Observations: NUWAVE has quite a few offerings, in a few different styles, the most interesting is the WOK, which features a matching contour induction unit. This unit goes up to 1500W, where as NUWAVE has one that goes to 1800W, and lower cost ones that go to 1300W; so many sizes to find the right fit for your kitchen size and needs. This one also includes a 10.5" non-stick pan; the benefit of buying a "system" is that the two will have been tested together, so you should be cooking literally right out of the box. NUWAVE also offers quite a wide assortment of kitchenware, so I would consider them a specialty manufacturer.Comparison to VAYEPRO: That unit is about half the cost, and does not include a pan. It also has a much simpler interface, as compared to they myriad of buttons and settings for the NUWAVE. If you prefer to a simple interface, or lower cost, the VAYEPRO is a good offering, which works well.Recommendation: Induction cookware does need to have some sort of iron/steel core, so that the induction coils create the heat through magnetism. If you don't have, or want to use non-ferrous cookware, you would need a conventional (non-induction) cook top burner.Pros: Good fit & finish; safety features; includes a pan.Cons: Cost, a little higher than similar offerings. Conclusion: At $140, rating this 4-stars (cost).Related Products:Induction Cooktop, VAYEPRO 1800W Portable Induction Burner ~ $56Visit the Vayepro Store4.4 out of 5 stars 61 ratingshttps://smile.amazon.com/dp/B09Y61D323

Excellent Alternate Cooking Surface
Sometimes you just need another cooking option to get a meal on the table for a crowd. Sometimes you just need a cooktop on the table for hot pot. Either way, this fits the bill. It's a bit uneven in the heating, as the induction coils aren't uniform across the entire surface, but start off lower and then bump up the temperature so that the pan can even itself out slowly. The surface of the cooktop does get hot, so don't touch it after you're done (but it's much less hot than a gas/electric stove). My primary use for this is for on-table hot pot, which is perfect as it's a small footprint and isn't gas. Heats up quickly and maintains a temperature.

A useful appliance
This induction cooktop is ideal as a portable appliance. It is highly adjustable, and easy to cook with. We plan to use it on our patio, and with our camping trailer (when we have hookups). It also useful in the kitchen and for tabletop cooking. With a little deeeper pan, it can be used on the table for a Chinese hot-pot meal. Since I did the review above, we've decided that we like it enough that it now lives on top of our conventional cooktop. My wife does most of her cooking in a wok or fry pan, and generally only uses one "eye" This has turned out to be ideal for us.

far better than other induction cooktops
More expensive but well worth it as the temperature controls are much more precise, no boil overs as with cheaper items because the heating is more consistent, not on and off
