FLEXCUT SlipStrop

Great sharpening tool for keeping blades sharp during use. Easy to use. The different shapes on the block were almost perfect in shape/ size for the lino cutting tools I have. It kept my blades sharp and cutting well as long as I used it often

Excellent speed of delivery. ( under 24 hours!) Only received yesterday so not able to give a detailed review as yet , but I have tried using the slipstrop and it seems to sharpen the tools well and with practice I think it will be very useful for my Lino printing 👍

This wooden block offers a variety of profiles for sharpening your cutting tools alongside a flat leather section when you turn it over. I found this leather section underneath was a little short and honing on a longer piece of leather like an old belt renders better results but the honing profiles are great to give a clean edge to the convex part of your tool. The wood is very soft, which may be wise to take care of the cutting edges but I'm not convinced that the item is incredibly robust and will wear quickly. I'm not sure I'll buy another when this gives out as I think it is overpriced for what it is but perhaps when I go back to honing without it I might understand it's true value as one can't put a price on sharp ready to work with tools.

Don't know how I've used lino tools without using this! Sharpens tools in a few seconds. Amazing. So easy to use.

I came across this item on YouTube and, as I had decided to teach myself Lino cutting during the lockdown, found that I needed a way of keeping the cutting tools sharp. The design is rather odd looking but it really works. The only issue I have is that the buffing compound comes as a very hard block, I will try a tube of Autosol or T-cut which I understand from reading works well and maybe easier to use.

As someone who partakes in a wide variety of crafts, I know the importance of keeping blades sharp. This product is incredibly versatile, with a variety of grooves for a variety of shapes.I have had this for close to a year now and it has lasted incredibly. I doubt it will lose any sort of function over the next coming years. Once this one is done, I will be certainly buying another.

This works OK (utube videos are helpful) but be aware that the purple bits are just profiled wood, nothing special, and that's why only 3 stars for, in my opinion, over-pricing.

Wanted one of theses for ages and wish I had bought one sooner than I did! I am not very good at sharpening my tools but this little block has helped me enormously in keeping my little gouges sharp whilst working. It is great for v gouges which I find particularly tricky - even my tiny 0.5 Pfeil v gouge is kept nice and sharp. I tend to use it often when working on wood/Lino blocks to ensure my tools are kept super sharp. My only reserve is that the wood the block is made from is very soft which makes me unsure of how long it will remain of use,but until I manage to perfect the art of sharpening with a stone this little piece of kit has been indispensable to me.
