Excellent Product
Easy to install and works better than the previous one we had!

Satisfactory
Does the job. One of the lines can't be fully tightened, even using the tensioning knob on the side, so on this basis, I'm giving it four stars.

Nice clothes dryer, easy to install & use
This is the second one of these which I have fitted, after recently moving house. Just like last time, I mounted this over the bath on the right-hand wall, with the handle facing the right, as it would be difficult to reach if it was the other way round. As before, I carefully unclipped the face plate of the end bar with a screwdriver, and turned it round so the 'Brabantia' logo was the right way up (see picture).Fixing it to the wall was not too difficult, although I used my own Rawlplugs & stainless screws, as I didn't trust the ones provided. On the right side there is a metal bracket which is screwed directly into the wall. This fits snugly over a plastic lip on the inner edge of the dryer. On the left, it secures with a long screw which goes directly through the casing. There is a bit of up & down movement before tightening so you can get it level. At the other end, I ran up against the same problem as last time, that the provided hooks wouldn't work, because the bar was now upside down! So once again, I used my own improvised J-shaped metal hooks (see picture) and I slipped a couple of plastic screw caps over the plug ends to neaten it up. So far, the hooks are holding well and seem to fit fine over the end bar.At the moment, the tension between the lines is pretty well balanced, but if they do get out of sync, it's quite easy to rectify this by pulling the lines out & letting them retract a few times. My clothes generally dry pretty quickly in the bathroom after airing for one or two days. This is a very useful product, and it's sturdy enough to take several large-ish, heavy-ish items like duvet covers, sheets & large towels. And it's great that you can retract the lines out of the way after use. The only issue I have with it, is the hook mechanism for the end-bar. They should really provide a type of hook which works either way round, as it must be a fairly common requirement to have to mount the product 'upside-down?' The face plate with the logo is easy enough to reverse, however. I'm very happy with this product, although I have knocked a star off because of the reversibility issue. I would recommend it for anyone who wants a space-saving solution to drying clothes indoors.

Really pleased with product performance
I was very skeptical about buying an indoor washing line as I did not think it would be possible to buy one that could hold clothes without sagging. However, I was desperate as we have no space for a tumble dryer and had a huge laundry backlog after a wet summer. I am so glad I purchased this product as the performance has been fantastic.I have read that others have had trouble with fitting, but this was not an issue for me even though I have limited DIY skills. All that is required is to drill four holes (two on each side) at the correct distance apart specified in the instructions provided. Then you insert rawl plugs into the holes. On the side that the main holder is to be fixed to, you have to screw a metal clip to the wall, then you slide the holder over the clip (very easy) and secure it with a second screw. On the other side you screw in two hooks that hold the lines when they are extended. I had no problems following the instructions or lining up the holes and everything you need is provided except a drill.I have put my line up in my bedroom where the walls are around 3.5m apart and I am able to easily hang two full loads on the lines. The locking system is great and the lines remain taut over multiple uses. When a line has occasionally sagged it was no problem to tighten it by pulling the lines in and out a couple of times and being sure to hold the bar straight when winding them back in. There is plenty of space between the lines for the clothes to get a good airing. I hang the clothes out in the morning when I leave for work with a dehumidifier on in the room and they are always dry when I come home.In only a few weeks of using this product I have been able to tackle a six month laundry backlog (I know it was this long as I found clothes at the bottom of the bin from my honeymoon in February!) If you don't have a lot of dry days and nowhere to put a tumble dryer then definitely buy this product, it does exactly what it says on the tin and makes life so much easier!

Relatively Easy to install
I bought this to replace a very old one, which unfortunately broke recently. This was fairly easy to install, everything needed is supplied. Once fitted you can pull out and hang your washing safely inside to dry. Fingers crossed this one lasts the 12+ years the previous one did

Practical drying solution - hide it if you want to!
The dryer is simple enough for a handyperson to install and instructions are included, just triplecheck to be accurate on the two holes for the wallplugs! Mine is over the bath, and stays out most of the time. It replaces another similar unit that had been there over 20 years and finally given up the ghost; couldn't retie the lines anymore! I think the old type plastic of the original item was stronger, being generally thicker, with properly stiff, steel mounting brackets. This new unit doesn't seem as strong really, but it's probably as good if not better than many of this type available now. Compared with my original, the plastic is thinner, more plasticky, with more 'give', so probably not as brittle. The metal part is thinner, scant, and not really stiff enough. However, the rewind locking mechanism seems improved and the tautness of all lines evens out if the strings are pulled out & in a few times with the lines unloaded, as with blinds .Once mounted, it has taken a full loading several times, and seems to do the job. I don't normally rewind it much. I had to open up some larger holes in the 'pullout' bar so it would hook more securely over the screw in 'cuphooks' I used; I didn't use the supplied right-angle ones, as too insecure for me. Can't give it a five - solely because ours is indoors!
