Replacement on 300C 5.7
During initial replacement I decided to only add new top and bottom hoses since I had already replaced the thermostat a couple of years ago. After replacement and half done air purge, my car ran hot for a week but did not overheat. I started to suspect a bad radiator out the box but decided to replace the thermostat and take my time to purge as much air as possible through the vent hole next to the thermostat. Reminder to all, if you have purged through the hole with water before it will not be the same with the cooling fluid. I had to fill the reservoir all the way to the top and wait for the fluid to leak out before plugging it back. It took a while, as the cooling fluid moves a lot slower. I don’t know which effected the outcome the most but now the radiator is working great. Even better than the original which I removed because of a crack. So if you can spend a little bit more, replace the thermostat while you’re at it. I ended up replacing everything at the end with great results.
