Q Acoustics BT3 Powered Bluetooth Bookshelf Speaker Pair (Gloss Black)

These are direct competitors to $399 Aperion Audio Allaire speakers. Both models offer the same features and benefits, and both models come with cabling that makes set-up easy. In fact, they are so similar in features and packaging that I wonder if they're made in the same Chinese factory.These are a bit more tonally balanced than the Allaire, although the Allaire have a very nice warmth and sound a little fuller. I also think perhaps the Allaire play louder...but I didn't measure decibels with a meter.We use these speakers instead the awful speakers in our 24" bedroom flat screen TV. For listening to TV shows and streaming content, the BT3 have slightly clearer dialogue.If we used the speakers only for music, I'd likely choose the Allaire.A deal killer for us about the Allaire is their inability to pair with a cable, satellite or universal remote control because they apparently do not use the Philips RC5 remote code protocol.The BT3 pair instantly with our cable tv remote. Yay! No more need for a dedicated remote to operate the speakers.Finally, these are $109 less expensive than the Allaire.

I bought these speakers to connect to iPad (via Bluetooth), DVD (digital input), and turntable (analog input). And they worked great. The speakers sounded fine, perhaps a bit bass shy (but that's to be expected given their size)--but I plan to rectify this by connecting it to a sub-woofer. The build is solid. It is everything good the on-line reviews have said about them. They are definitely a good value.I would have given the speakers 4 starts but I bumped it to 5 starts for the stellar service from Q Acoustics (and someone named Amanda--thank you). The original remote that came with the purchase did not work. BUT Amanda & Q Acoustics sent me a replacement as quickly as I can say "Q Acoustics is the best!" I heartily recommend the Q Acoustics, Amanda and their BT3 Active speakers.

I purchased these directly from Q Acoustics and they are fantastic. I had previously ordered a pair of Edifier S880DB. The Edifier’s are well made and sounded crystal clear. They just had no warmth to them and absolutely no bass. The BT3s on the other hand are very well made and the sound is outstanding. They sound full and rich. The highs are so sweet with that soft dome tweeter. I just can’t get over how good these sound! Highly recommended.
