The Ultimate Cookbook for Young Chef: 100+ Easy and Flavorful Baking and Sweet Recipes for Kids to Cook with Great Funny(Color Edition)

I have bought 2 copies of this book as gifts, and ended up liking them so much I bought a copy for myself! This isn't your typical "kid" cookbook with cutesy recipes that don't use many actual cooking skills. It's a high-quality cookbook with a variety of delicious and reasonably healthy dishes that children and adults alike will enjoy eating. There are photos on almost every page, clear explanations of cooking techniques. I originally bought this as a gift for my godson who was about 10 at the time, but it could easily be used by a younger child (with help) or an older child, without having it feel too young. We enjoyed making some of the recipes together, and I have tested most of them with very good results. I also bought a copy for a friend with Down Syndrome who loves to cook. We tried out the mug cakes together, and I made a list of other recipes to try with her. Even though she's a great reader, the photos were very helpful in understanding the steps.

I ordered 3 cookbooks but this is the one I gave her. Excellent recipes plus great tutorials - I even picked up some pointers! Some challenging recipes but definitely within the scope of an aspiring chef.The cookbook has step by step instructions, recipes that are not at all complicated, and recipes that are geared to food that children usually consume. It's a great purchase for a kid just learning to cook on their own with a little bit of parent supervision.

My 11 year old loves this cookbook, and can use it herself without any help. The quality of the recipes is great, and we even use some of them for family dinners. Not just a dumbed down kid cookbook like others tend to be, lots of good info and recipes. The recipes in here are THE BEST! The kids and I made sandwich tonight and it didn’t disappoint.

I bought this book for my 11 year old granddaughter. She loves it. Infact her siblings keep trying to get it from her. The recipes are really good, with very specific instructions. Little to no adult supervision needed. Love how they have different levels of recipes!

I bought this for my 10 year old granddaughter as I thought we could go through it together. I chose this one based on a very well-stated review by an accomplished chef who loved it. Great photos, great teaching at the introduction and I actually made the green bean recipe and LOVED it. That's how it make them now!

I really like this cookbooks, so I got this one for my kids, one of whom wants to be a chef. He really likes flipping through the book and picking out a recipe to try. We've enjoyed everything he's made, and I can even see his cooking skills improving.

The recipes are ok but there aren’t any photos of the dish next to the recipes which would have been helpful for kids. The quality of the paper used is also quite poor. Disappointed.
