This product is great, however I feel only if you get some mineral oil. The oil really makes the product so much better, and stops stains or marks. The edges of the slates are sharpe, for example if you wipe with a kitchen cloth (it tore my cloth!) The first picture is with the oil added. the second is without oil (the back) where you can see the difference in the slate colour due to the oil (around the edges)

Pros; Look great, natural and durableCons; stain easily, but can be cleaned with washing up liquid and water, as a natural product prone to some flaking at the edges.

Arrived scratched and with hand print. Splintered slate. Bought placemats as part of order. One was cracked in the corner one so uneven couldn’t use. Of six mats only four usable and there were slate splinters on all of them.

They look very nice, quick delivery, good price, but are a little wobbly. When sitting on a hard flat surface, may not sit perfectly flat.
