Good quality instrument which is demonstrated by the price. As a drummer, it was important to have proper snare wires inside and this unit is designed so I can add more if I want to. I may well do that to boost the snare effect as it is an easy purchase of a second snare unit that can be installed in seconds. A good range of sounds as well making it a good acoustic replacement for a drum kit. Those that view cajons as just a wooden box are not percussionists and this one has been made with rounded corners, rubber feet,nice wood, and attention to detail. The front drum surface is replaceable should it get damaged or even if you want a different look. If you take a look at the materials used you could be tempted to say it is overpriced but the sum of it's parts means that this is justified and I was happy to pay a little more for better quality sound, especially those snare wires.
