Some dogs don't like the sound, and it may bark more violently at the device. At this point, don't turn off the device, keep it running, and give the dog a two-week acclimation period, and it will stop barking because the dog is smart enough to understand that its barking causes this noise.

This is a joke
Made absolutely no difference with my dog barking. I even tried it on the parrot to see if he would stop squawking, didn’t work. I bought two and they are useless and a waste of money. One Hundred percent garbage.

I have to say this does work
We have had this for a bit now and it works well. In the beginning I would have said life changing, BUT I wanted to wait a bit before reviewing. We have two livestock guardians dogs, Anatolian, (F) and Anatolian/ Pyrenees (M.) So, very large breeds. Our male's barking was out of control. We were getting complaints from the neighbors because it was so bad. Upon first trying, on the lowest setting it worked awesome. The second I turned it on he stopped barking and went and laid down. It was a huge game changer. Now I will say I think he is growing more used to it, however his barking is still not nearly as bad as it was and it has, overall helped immensely. Since he is a guardian to our other animals, we don't necessarily want him being afraid to bark at all, however, the incessant barking at delivery drivers or someone walking down our road had to stop. As some of the other reviews say, we do go through batteries pretty frequently, but I still think it's worth it because it has made a really big difference. If you have a barking problem I would recommend you giving this product a try, especially for the price.

Does not work- waste of money
My neighbor leaves his dogs outside most of the day. They constantly barks every time a car or person goes by.I have this device on my fence within 5-10 feet of his dogs. It has been over 3 weeks and I've notice no change. This was a waste of my money, and I would not buy this product again.

Don’t bother.
It didn’t make a difference and then began to malfunction and was emitting a frequency that just began to upset them and they were barking at it instead.

Batteries don’t last
It works when it works but I bought three different kinds of barking units. This one burns through the batteries quite often like every 2 to 3 weeks. The other two that I bought last a lot longer.

It Works!
As long as you have a clear line of sight for the barking dog, this thing works well. I've gotten my neighbor's shepherd to not bark from the hill next to my home. However, the dog has found a different patch of yard to bark from. It's further away and doesn't bother me at night, so I'm good with it. The constant barking, even though it's from further away, has kept the device operating, so it's burning through batteries. In the future I would probably get a hard-wired device. I opted for the cheaper option just to see if it would work.

Didn't work at all for my dogs.
Returning because it had no effect at all on my dogs. In test mode it lights up, but in all 3 of the live modes my dogs didn't even act like it was doing anything. Not sure if it's defective or if the sound just had no deterring effect.

The device operates... BUT, my dog has "conversations" with it.
I bought this device because it emits a "blast" of ultrasonic sound, every time it detects the sound of a dog barking. As someone who is not a dog, and also was not born on the planet Krypton, I am unable to hear sounds in the 23 kHz - 24 kHz ultrasonic range. To demonstrate that this device works, I used the "Spectroid" app on my Android phone. My attached photo shows an annotated screenshot of the output from the Spectroid app. The lower portion of the image shows a plot of observed frequency (low-pitched sounds on left, high-pitched ultrasound on the right) versus time (oldest sounds on the bottom). The device that I ordered CLEARLY WORKS. It functions EXACTLY as it was expected to do.Unfortunately, my dog likes to have "conversations", of sorts, with this gadget. I'm convinced that my dog thinks he's having a conversation with another, albeit very high-pitched, dog. I'm also convinced that my dog barks ON PURPOSE, just to hear the ultrasonic reply from his pretend ultrasonic doggy friend. So, it works, but your "mileage" may vary.
