Overall, great coat. Would recommend.
We ordered the Back length: 25" (3XL) for our Catahoula. It is a little long on her, but it will probably be better this way in the rain/snow.Pros:-hole for the leash to attach to collar-it is all velcro, so it is super easy to put on/take off-fleece lining will keep my pup warm-water proof-bands to put the hind legs through so that the back doesn't flip upCons:-the "reflective" strip is not very reflective. It instead is a dark gray to match the bottom, with some reflective quality

Good quality! Not the best choice for a dog with a deep chestI’m about to order coat #3 due to sizing issues on my dogs part! I was looking for a coat for my 70lb ridgeback/boxer mix. 18” made my 50lb boxer mix look like she was suffocating. The 25” fit my 50lb boxer mix perfectly in the chest but was a couple inches too long. The 25” fit my 70lb ridgeback/boxer mix like the 18” did on my 50lb boxer mix. The chest may fit fine on one but the length be too long/short on the same sweater and vice versa on a deep chested dog.

This item came covered in dog hair, maybe from testing which would be forgivable if the product worked. The material is great, as is most of the construction but as far as putting it on a dog, there's no way to secure it. Put velcro in terms of batteries, for each negative charge there need to be a positive. I have two negative sides of velcro with no positive to attach it. Additionally there are two loops of elastic which appear to be in place for the hind legs. If you've spent 5 minutes around a dog you know that this placement would cause chafing and discomfort on any dog.

is easy on and off and very durable
We spent a lot of time measuring our dog. This was the only coat that fit her unique measurements. We ordered an XXL for our 40 lb Briquet Griffon rescue mix. It covers down to her tail, is easy on and off and very durable. The only thing is that there is no opening for a harness on the back of the coat. But, we find that we can put her harness over the coat with no problems. There is an opening for a collar/leash in the neck area of the coat. Love the soft warm lining, water resistance (she's dry when coming in from the rain), and reflective piping along both sides. We've used it with and without the elastic bands that go around the hind legs. It stays on either way if she is just going out for a walk. If she's scrambling around the yard, the elastics help to keep it centered on her back. We are happy with this purchase!

Would love this vest if it fit my dog
I would give this much higher rating if the product fit as described. Upon receipt I found the coat to be very tight on him, around his neck and chest. The Velcro on the neck would come loose immediately and the chest would loosen if he was active at all. I have a 49lb Dalmatian, measured him carefully and he fit into the range of the 2XL size. 2XL chart says neck to 17 and chest to 27.5, my dog is 15 neck and 27 chest. I contacted seller and they told me to return for larger size to amazon.I received 3XL size and while it does stay on it clearly is too large. 3XL is for 20in neck and up to 30 chest. Plus the length jumps from 18 to 25in. So while the 2XL was a bit short and didn't cover his back. the 3XL looks funny as it hangs off his backside about 3 inches.I do appreciate that dogs come in all sizes, but I don't consider my dog to be odd shaped, and none of size choices offered will fit my dog properly.Getting past the sizing issue, the vest is well made, has a nice look (if it fits) with reflective stripe. The Velcro closure might be better if it had a double back loop, as the do can loosen if active. The straps for the rear legs didn't work for my dog, he hated it as I saw others had reported, but not sure they are needed anyway. I am keeping the 3XL size until i find something I like better for him.

Really well made - had to modify it to fit
This is a great dog coat for $20!... seriously, very well made from quality materials. This coat offers something that few of the coats out there offer... and that is it covers the front of my dogs chest. Most dog coats leave this area wide open. When a dog runs thru snow without it's chest being covered, it's like you going outside and using your coat like a cape on your back... what good does that do for keeping warm? Makes no sense... Well, This coat is well thought out and cleverly made, and it's easy to put on and take off of my pup. My dog happens to have short hair (and is a big baby when it comes to cold weather) and an 18" neck with a 28" chest and nothing out there seems to fit her. Based on her neck and chest size of 18x28, this meant the XXXL was the size to get. Then next size up looks like it would have been way to big. So, it arrived and this thing fit so exact to size that it was almost too tight... 19" means 19" literally. So, since yesterday was the first day of snow, and it's cold out, I had no choice but to modify this coat to make it fit her better... It took me less than an hour to do this. I simply expanded the neck collar by adding a velcro extension... it was easy. I repurposed an old fanny pack made from a similar material. It worked out great. The only complaint I have with this coat is the wimpy worthless little white elastic straps that are supposed to keep the back end of the coat in place on the dogs back. Cut these off... they irritated my dogs hind legs... instead they need to include just a simple velcro strap or elastic strap right behind the rib cage that holds the coat onto the dogs back... so it actually helps keep body heat in. That's what I did. I added a soft, wide strap with a buckle (from that same repurposed fanny pack) and it works great!. The back half of the coat now wraps around her torso, and is not just sitting on her back. So, if your dogs measurements fit within their scale, you're lucky. If not, and if you are handy with a sewing machine, this coat provides a great core to start with. I have plans on adding a knitted or fleece neck liner to help keep the snow out even more. (after years of searching for a dog coat that "fits" right out of the box, I've decided to simply stop hoping for that and to modify one that is 90% of what I want... this coat provided me that... so I am recommending it for that reason - it's really well made and was easy to modify)

Good, well made jacket & great company with excellent consumer response
They make a high quality good looking tailored dog coat - but its designed for slimmer & smaller dogs.My big rescue mutt is a seriously large lab & English pointer cross with a bit of german shepherd, with long legs & a huge rib-cage, so it simply didn't fit him - anything which fastened around the chest was too long & still didn't fasten around his neck.Didog were great & worked with me to try to make it right, but at the end of the day the tailored design wasn't made for my big guy

5x fit our chesty 100 lb. guy
we are very happy with this coat. the 5x fits our 100 lb. pitbull cross well. there is a few inches of flap hanging off in the back but it just keeps him dryer. also hopefully this style won't blow up like a skirt in strong winds like his old coat which fell off and got lost in the woods. I like the design and the fact that this coat fits a bit more snugly than old coat. His fur is very short, bare skin in some spots and the Canadian winters are cold and windy so this coat is just perfect warm protection for him when he needs it.

Perfect for our big doggie
We had such a hard time find a decent coat for our dog which didn't have a zipper or one that she'd have to 'step' into. She's a Mastiff so we needed one that would keep her warm, that would stay on her while she'd walk and would be easy to get her in and out of. This one does that. Worth the money. And fits our baby, she's 120lbs!

Sizing
Product is fine, but sizing is off. Ordered a large for a 16 pound dog and it is to small. Measurementsare off. Need to order one or two sizes bigger than measurements. Who would have thought a 16 pound dog would take x-large.Any change of trading it in for a X large coat?Change my review to a 5 as they are sending me a x large coat at no charge Thank youThanks for the new x large coat

I wouldn’t call it a winter coat
What I didn’t like about these jackets: - they are on the thin side, good for a cool day but not good for cold weather.- they are kind of short, they don’t cover the whole back. I think getting the size larger than the chart might be smart.. They fit my dogs, just didn’t go right to tail, and didn’t look like the pictures.I liked the material it’s just not warm enough for my winter temps.I loved the ease of putting it on. It uses Velcro, and the design makes it super easy to get on your dog.
