My neurologist "prescribed" this supplement to help with nerve pain/discomfort while I am recovering from transverse myelitis. I'd done a lot of research & never came across any info about ALA that might help with pain. So when she told me about this, I was a bit skeptical but glad to try something that might help.I take 2 tablets (100 mg each) twice a day, and I have definitely noticed a difference. I didn't pay that much attention at first, but found that I had more pain/discomfort when I inadvertently skipped taking it. I am still taking the gabapentin rx for pain as well, but I have been able to get off the heavy duty narcotic pain reliever - I'm not sure if ALA helped me get off the other pain reliever, but since it all happened around the same time I think it's likely!I highly recommend this supplement, and will be ordering more as soon as this bottle is finished.

I know how product is great because everything jarrow makes is top notch. This is a chelator so it will move heavy metals... and this is able to cross the blood brain barrier. So, the mercury from your fillings could move right pass the blood brain barrier. Just a heads up! I almost started taking it because i know I may have too much mercury moving around in my system. I did a little research and found that it would be a good thing for me because I still have those fillings.

Have not been disappointed with the product and especially the brand and have converted many friends to the daily consumption of this product. In my initial years of purchasing, I could only find it in health food stores at eggagerated prices. I'm taking this because I have high blood sugar (not diabetic, but my sugar is 103, and that's unsafe) I am taking this because I read that it helps control your blood sugar after meals. So I take this along with eating healthy as a joint effort in reducing my sugar and preventing diabetes. I don't know if it works yet, but I don't have any side effects. It is a smaller, aspirin sized pill which is important to me since I take a lot of supplements. It goes down the hatch easy!

I suffer greatly from arthritis pain caused by late-stage, chronic Lyme disease. A friend recommended this, and I'm finally feeling a reduction of pain. I've worked up to 6 tablets in the morning with breakfast. That's the maximum dose. I am amazed that a supplement is helping with my pain. It's a first!
