N-ViroBor 10 is an aqueous wood preservative based on Disodium Octaborate and Benzalkonium Chloride. Suitable for the eradication of common furniture beetle (Anobium punctatum) and other wood boring insects in building timbers. N-ViroBor 10 can be used for the prevention of fungal decay in sound timbers following the removal of sources of moisture. Special Properties: Good Penetration Very Low Odour Non Flammable Water Based a) For Beetle Infestation: Ensure that all timbers to be treated are adequately exposed and cleaned (vacuum cleaning preferred). Any paint or varnish finishes or any sapwood severely damaged edges of timbers ("frass") should be removed prior to treatment where possible. b) For Fungal Decay - Wet Rot / Dry Rot: As (a) above, plus - locate and rectify the source of dampness. Cut out all structurally unsound timbers and make repairs isolating timbers where Possible from damp masonry etc, and ensuring adequate ventilation. For treatments of decayed timbers in-situ see the Wykabor 20.1 Gel Data Sheet Application: Wear suitable protective clothing (coveralls), synthetic rubber/PVC gloves and face protection. Teak decks and outdoor furniture. This treatment should be carried out annually on exterior decking and teak/wood furniture to prevent slime, mould, algae, insect and wood rot attack. Wash to remove all dirt and previous coatings. Allow the surface to dry until just damp. Apply a single coat of N-ViroBor 10 by brush or spray until the surface is visible. Allow the surface to dry out until just damp again. Then apply a second coat of N-ViroBor 10. Product Uses: Yacht decking, House decks-patios etc. Fencing, wall coverings. Furniture - outdoor hardwood and softwoods. Packaging: 25 Litre Container Coverage: By Brush / Spray: 1 litre per 4m² of wood or masonry surface. By dipping (Timber): Approx. 5-20 litres per m³ (dependant on timber dimensions etc). By Irrigation (Masonry): 10 litres/m³.
