Unbelievable
I own 2 TC Encore Magnum muzzle loaders that I sighted in last week. They are both 16 years old and identicle. However I use one of them more than the other. Im glad I had two Encores to compare or I might have never realized just how important this simple little nipple brush is in this kit. Let me explain.First off, I bought one for myself and one for my Son. I hunt more than him so thats why one gets used more than the other. Both rifles get sighted in every year. Both of these guns are extremely accurate. My guess is the one I use has fired 150 shots more than the other. Shooting at deer or just firing the gun after hunting on a drizzly or rainy day to eliminate the possibly compromised powder charge from moisture. That gun would get cleaned spotless and reloaded for the next day. So if my gun was cleaned spotless every time it was fired , why would it make a difference ? Read on.As I mentioned , I sighted in both Encores last week. Fired one shot with each gun and both were bulls eyes.I had ordered this brush kit from Amazon and waited to clean the guns until it was delivered yesterday morning. I took both breech plugs out for the cleaning process. I have always used a wire tie to clean the breech plug fire hole. But I wanted to try this new plug brush. I cleaned my well used plug first . The brush would not fit in the hole even though I could see through the plug. I tried several times pressing hard to no avail. So I figured the brush was useless for me and was made to fit some other , possibly newer type breech plug. Just not mine from a 16 year old gun. So off I go to clean the lesser used breech plug. To my amazement it fit into the fire hole with a little force. Spinning the brush around in the fire hole and pulling the brush in and out a few times produced some powder residue from a plug I " thought " was already clean. So why wont it fit in the other plug ? I compare the two fire holes and they look identical . Back to no 1 . I take the brush and really cram it in there while spinning the brush clockwise. After using some hard force , it slides right in. The pile of powder residue that I pulled out of that clean looking plug was astonishing. I cleaned that plug for 1/2 an hour by pushing it in and spinning the brush both directions , pulling the brush out and tapping the plug primer side down . The amount of powder residue that came out of that plug was unbelievable even though I could see through the plug that looked clean when I started this. Now what if I only owned the one Encore that it didn't fit , I would of faulted the brush as too big . This brush is now going to be my number one tool cleaning my muzzle loaders. I would have to think that all Thompson Center muzzle loaders use the same size fire hole in their breech plugs. This little brush is an essential tool to use to prevent any misfires . The big brush speaks for itself cleaning the fire channel of the barrel. I found it to be high quality and worked perfect. Put a shotgun cleaning patch over the bristles with some solvent, slide it in the breech and spin it clockwise to clean all the breech plug threads in the barrel .Sorry for such a long revue over a simple little brush . But if it helps prevents someone from getting an unexplained misfire out in the field at the moment of truth , then I'm happy. Thanks for reading.

Great product, it gets out the gunk a wire leaves behind
Great product to clean the fire hole (breech nipple). This cleans out the gunk that the wire style alone does not. It’s a snug fit on my Thompson Centers, and I had to turn it and let the brush twist “screw” it in the first time. It was amazing how much black gunk came out. Then I could brush readily to polish it. It does not go all the way through the fire hole which is smaller diameter at the powder (barrel) end. I just bought more for my muzzleloader buddies.

Great tool set for maintaining breech plug and threads
This works very well for cleaning out breech threads, as well as the fire channel on my T/C Endeavor breech plug. I must note that I first though the small fire channel brush was oversized, because it didn't fit in the fire channel of my breech plug. In my case, I needed to take a 1/8" twist drill bit and carefully excavate a ton of crusty soot that had shrunk the fire channel to a very narrow hole. After that, the fire channel brush fit well, and continues to keep it very clean.

Works fine, but still need something for spark hole
These work fine, though my brush for my barrel seems to do the same job as the bigger brush. The smaller brush is good to get inside the breech plug, but you’ll still need a pin or something else to clear out the spark hole because it won’t fit into there.
