Seriously cool stuff!
UPDATE: The paint survived the summer and has done a great job keeping the conservatory from becoming an oven. I hope it lasts for next summer too, but I won't be too sad if we have to re-apply it because it has made the room habitable. This house came with an old conservatory built in 1994 with an entirely double glazed glass roof on a south facing garden. I think the previous owners must have been lizards because it gets so warm it is uninhabitable during the day even with the air conditioning unit switched to max! The blinds that are installed don't do anything significant apart from be a) annoying and b) ugly. After much dithering over whether spending nearly a grand (yes that's right!) on a dated conservatory we don't even particularly like to get the roof tinted professionally, I considered that we could just paint the damn thing seeing as we don't care what it looks like anyway. I considered using acrylic paint but soon realised it would likely just degrade and peel under the summer sun, but then I happened upon this stuff.Yes it has mixed reviews but when part of your house is essentially a greenhouse for old people, which is so awful to spend time in or near that you are quite tempted to take a sledgehammer to it anyway you've not got much to lose.Rather than apply it to the inside we clambered up onto the roof armed with some warm soapy water (washing up liquid was just fine) and gave the windows a good clean with a new car cleaning sponge. Then rinsed off excess soap with the hose and let the water dry off. The paint itself was very easy to apply and went much further than I thought - we managed to do two layers using a paint brush and two tins, leaving the recommended 3 hours between coats. I have 2 tins left over so we're going to do another layer with rollers to try to patch up the bits that are missed but really it has done a super job so far.No it doesn't look pretty from the inside - although I think you would get a nicer finish with a roller, the paint probably wouldn't go as far - but I am so pleased to have discovered it possible for it to be cooler indoors than out! All for a fraction of the cost of other upgrades available to help with heat reflection.I can't attest to longevity as we applied it yesterday but if you have a conservatory you are close to murdering give this stuff a go! I appreciate not everyone would want to get on the roof but applying it on the inside would be ridiculous for ours as the roof is a lean-to style and I kinda like not having a cricked neck. Now we can put that grand towards something more fun to us 30-somethings than the dated 90s throwback that is this conservatory.

Time will tell at how good this paint lasts but initial impression it certainly blocks out light really well which has helped on heat reduction.I painted directly onto our conservatory roof using extended roller and luckily I started in a not so important area first because I found this really tricky to apply consistently. From the outside the finish looks great but from the inside looking up you have to be really careful to apply consistently as otherwise you get a kind of mottled effect. It probably sounds obvious but the thicker you roll it on the more it blocks out also, so if not careful you can get darker patches forming. Final point make sure you clean any surface thoroughly as this seemed to help the application. Overall quite a good product, but maybe would have appreciated some more application guidance or even a youtube recording or two! Dont take on if you are not a confident painter..

Excellent product.
I have struggled for two years with my new potting shed, which has one side with full glass which has actually made it too hot to grow anything in. Someone suggested painting the glass, which I found very bizarre but gave it a go with this product. Now it has certainly reduced the temperature in the shed which is great and it seems to still allow enough light in for the plants to still be growing and doing well. Great product and like many others I painted the inside rather the outside and used a small roller, which was super easy.

Reduced heat but poor finish.
I used this on the UPVC roof of my shed. It certainly keeps the temperature down although the finish is poor. Maybe it was my poor diy skills but even though I used a soft roller the finish is very streaky. I would not use this for a conservatory roof.

A rare find
Found this after much searching for a suitable paint to coat the underside of a glass conservatory roof prior to the installation of an insulated liner. Did the job very effectively with a couple of coats. Best applied with a foam roller where possible as gives quite a mottled finish which can be streaky if brushed on, but was ideal for what I needed and a very cost-effective option compared with having the glass professionally tinted.

Wish we’d bought this years ago.
I applied 2 coats (used 2 tins) to the outside of our south facing conservatory and the difference is amazing. Gone are the days when a slight bit of sun overheated it. Now we have a shady room that looks many times better and even on sunny days it’s still comfortable with the blinds up. I ended up painting the inside with normal paint to give a perfectly smooth appearance, but the effort and minimal cost have been rewarded with a very usable conservatory which also improves the view looking out of the house.
