CREATIVE Sound Blaster X7 USB DAC with Bluetooth Headphone Amplifier

Bought in 2017 and still working very well in 2021.Being used with a set of 120w Denon bookshelf speakers, these produce amazing sounds.It also allows these bookshelf speakers to be used in addition to a subwoofer and other satellite speakers, allowing full range speakers, with the bass and surround of a 5.1 system.Bluetooth is easy to use and hook up.The software included allows for the volume of different sound sources to be adjusted independently.The accompanying mobile phone app allows for this to all be adjusted remotely, via the Bluetooth connection.The only downside is the quality of the headphone stand and the volume dial. That being said, it certainly isn't a deal breaker! Fantastic product

I'm using creative sound cards with Linux for years. I thought that my last SB Creative Omni was good but I was so not aware of the sound that X7 can deliver. With quality headphones it is a real pleasure to listen to a music. I'm replaying my music collection again just to rediscover that I have missed so much from sound of favourite tracks.Just for the sound quality I can give 5 starts and with the other added features I can't really think of other USB sound card which X7 can compare with.

Good price.I won't compare it to other products because I'm not qualified to do so, but it does have a significant effect compared to no DAC/amp.The two selling points for this product are extremely attractive:1) Its compatibility with almost everything. It's missing a HDMI port and it doesn't work well with console game chat. But other than that you can connect just about anything you can think of to it and it'll work great.The real advantage of that is lying back (or with bluetooth walking away) and still being able to change a gazillion settings on the phone app. Which brings us to point two.2) The sound panel lets toggle direct mode on and off, and the EQ and effects settings are extensive and mostly quite useful (dialogue boost, bass boost, EQ presets, surround modifier, etc.)The matte finish is nice and the design is pretty cool IMO, although some may hate it. It's not too light and it doesn't move around on surfaces too easily.The bad points are the lack of good console support, the lack of a packed optical cable (when all these different region plugs are pointlessly provided), the microphone array which seems pretty awful - maybe I haven't fiddled with it enough... the lack of any kind of display on the hardware (NBD IMO but people have complained so...) and the "headphone stand" it comes with is pretty useless unless you're using it for earphones or very light headphones.

Everything is perfect， It can drive my HD660s well...But....a said story is ....it start £55 off after 1 day I got it. (╯‵□′)╯︵┻━┻I'm very satisfied with the product, but I still have some unhappiness.... /(ㄒoㄒ)/~~

Hi ... First of all the software : I had 2or 3 attempts (install and uninstall) to make him recognize the device . Software very easy to adjust the sound . For movie good quality sound For music decent ( the music quality not so great and barely push 150Ω headphones ) For games ... This is the big problem with this device and the scout mode. With scout mode on you can hear footsteps at great distance but not that pinpoint and the first time you shoot , the software for some reason lower the volume and you can't hear anymore if someone flanc you .dTS or Dolby in Windows are better choise and much much cheaper .

This was the most ridiculous impulse buy I've ever made, but I absolutely love it. You can download an app on your devices, like an iPad, which allows you to adjust all the different settings, which I love. It's a pity you can't use your microphone on games consoles but oh well.

The SB X7 meets the expectations, although I found some problems, mainly with the software.Not being an audiophile expert, the sound quality seems good me.It has multiple outputs and inputs connections for digital and analog audio, as well as Bluetooth and NFC.The software brings multiple settings and audio profiles, useful for games and movies. It is compatible with various operating systems, including iOS and Android.However, while using the software I found it somehow unfriendly.For the installation in Windows 10 I had to restart the computer 3 times.The Bluetooth and NFC connections didn’t work and I had to request help contacting the technical service by email. The answer was satisfactory and useful, but once again, I had to install an additional firmware update.Finally, it worked as expected.It is difficult to find information on how to use the software beyond the basis, for things such as management when connected to the PC and Smartphone at the same time, how to synchronize audio profiles between different devices or how to recover the audio when you receive a call while reproducing trough a mobile phone.I find the design of the SB X7 elegant, the size and weight are perfect.The materials in which it is made are correct if you don't have to move it around very often.If you have to move it around it doesn't seem resistant enough and may end up with some scratches.I would like to have, in the device itself, two commends that are only in the software interface; an indication of the current volume and a button to exchange between speakers and headphones.I would recommend the SB X7 for audio lovers, with medium quality sound equipment, having various audio peripherals or several reproduction devices, looking to improve their control throughout devices and the quality of the audio.

llevo todo el dia dando caña a este aparato y solo puedo decir que vale cada euro, la calidad de sonido es brutal buenos acabados y la guinda el soporte para auriculares. La única pega que le puedo poner es que solo tenga una salida de audio digital pero bueno es un fallo leve yo llevo ya muchas tarjetas y como esta ninguna, nada mas conectarla e flipado mis altavoces parecen otros una potencia exagerada y una claridad que nunca había escuchado yo recomiendo a todo el mundo la compra.

Der Sound Blaster X7 wird bei mir in Tandem mit einer X-FI Fatality (64MB XRAM) verwendet. Vorher nutze ich, auf Grund von Nebengeraeuschen bei Mausbewegungen (Brummschleifen ueber USB gehen ueber die X-FI als stoehrende Fiep und Brummgeraeusche raus) eine Aureon Firewire 7.1 per Toslink als DAC und ließ dann das Analogsignal von einen einfachen Stereo-Verstaerker von Dynavox fuer meine Kopfhoerer verstaerken. (K701)Die SB X7 erspart mir in der jetzigen Konfiguration den mittelmaeßigen Dynavox. Die Aureon selbst war sehr hochwertig in der Audioausgabe, somit ist klanglich -kaum- ein Unterschied zu dem neuen Setup festzustellen. Die Hoehen sind, nachdem ich die X-Fi auf 96KHz 24Bit gesetzt habe, feiner aufgeloest und das Orten in Spielen funktioniert so wesentlich besser. Zudem koennen die Kopfhoerer nun lauter betrieben werden, was aber fuer mich eher weniger sinnvoll ist. Die Aureon produzierte minimalstes Rauschen, bei der X7 ist es nicht mehr hoerbar. Jetzt stoehrt eher, das man bei Videos die schlechte Audioqualitaet verwendeter Mikrofone deutlicher hoert.Die X7 als primaeres Audiowiedergabegeraet bei Spielen/ Mehrkanalton mit Kopfhoerern zu benutzen ist dagegen weniger sinnvoll. Deswegen setze ich hier weiter auf die X-Fi, die Mehrkanalton wesentlich hochwertiger und ohne messbare Verluste auf Kopfhoerer-Ausgabe in Stereo umrechnet. So ergibt sich aus der X7 und der X-FI ein fantastisches Tandem. Der ueberlegende Audio-DSP der X-FI gepaart mit der extrem hochwertigen Qualitaet der X7 machen eine sehr gute Figur. zumal sich der DSP der X7 umgehen laesst.Zu dem Produkt allgemein:Die X7 ist ein Stereo-Verstaerker, welcher eine USB-Soundkarte mit einem Effekt-DSP sowie Bluetooth-Anbindung enthaelt. Zudem kann die X7 Mehrkanalton ueber Line-Outs ausgeben. Die Kopfhoereranschluesse verfuegen ueber einen fuer quasi alle Kopfhoerer geeigneten Verstaerker. Ein Mikrofon ist in der X7 ebenfalls verbaut.Es handelt sich somit um eine Eierlegende Wollmilchsau. Und dafuer ist der Preis wiederrum angemessen. Die Op-Amps sind austauschbar. Mit einem groeßeren Netzteil lassen sich Lautsprecher mit jeweils 2 x 50Watt bei 4 Ohm betreiben, was bei den Ausmaßen des geraetes wirklich eine gute Leistung ist. Es handelt sich hier um ein sehr rundes Produkt. Auch wenn ich lieber 100€ gespart haette, indem Creative dieses Modell ohne verbauten Verstaerker verkauft. leider sind die kleineren Ableger eben auch beim Wandler und KHV nicht auf dem Niveau der X7.

Amplificatore versatile e di ottima qualità, facilmente configurabile.Sia per l'ascolto di musica che la visione di film o l'uso di videogiochi, ha opzioni di default per tutti gli usi e permette la configurazione e il salvataggio di molteplici profili custom.Combinato alle casse E-MU XM7, per le quali ha un setting ad-hoc, il risultato è davvero ottimo. La qualità del suono è eccellente (considerando anche la fascia di prezzo).** una piccola nota: i tasti sul fronte per l'accensione e l'abilitazione del sistema SB-X sono un po' poco reattivi **

Ich nutze das X7 fürs Radiomachen, weil ich meinen Hörern nur besten Sound zumuten möchte. Das X7 übertrifft jede andere mir bekannte externe Soundkarte bei weitem!Zu Anfang war ich immer etwas irritiert, denn das Einschalten funktioniert nur dann, wenn man den Power-Knopf länger gedrückt hält. Man hat den Eindruck, dass das X7 dann auch erst "hochfahren" muss. Zeugt aber von einem mächtigen Innenleben. Hochwertige Bauteile sind verbaut!Das X7 holt aus jeder existierenden mp3 Töne raus, die man zuvor niemals zu hören vermochte.
