Simple, Affordable, Cheap Blackout Fabric!!!!!
I bought this fabric to help block out some of the light that reflects onto my projector screen when I watch movies during the day. Although this is not that often its still a problem so I looked on Amazon to find some suitable material. As you can see from the photos I decided to cut 3 pieces instead of originally using one piece just for ease of use knowing the material is to go behind the blinds. I cut the fabric with a rubber mat, steel ruler and a Stanley knife. I did try cutting with scissors but the Stanley knife was easier. The fabric cuts very well and clean. I know some of the other reviewers used velcro but I chose against this because I didn't like the idea of sticky velcro on the window frames and because the curtain is not a permanent fixture I chose eyelets instead. I bought a eyelet tool with eyelets from a cheap store for £2. I screwed some hooks into the frames where I used to hang net curtain and added a additional one in the middle of each windows for extra support. As you can see from the photos I made a hem with the fabric and had it sewed for a better finish. If I were to do this again I would have left more overlap on the middle piece and I would stretch the left and right window pieces around the living room wall. Even with the little light seeping through you can see the difference blocking the light out had on my projector screen. To sum up if you want some reasonably cheap fabric to block out sunlight you will not go far wrong with this material. The fact that this is also thermal properties is also a bonus. My mother in law has already asked me to purchase some more fabric for her garage window because the direct sunlight causes problems with her freezer. Hope this review helps? I will continue to do these reviews instead of just sitting back and reading everyone elses.

Simply the Best!
This is outstanding material and for me it means no more waking up at 4 or 5 in the morning when it gets light early in the summer (I'm assuming the insulating qualities of this material will be equally effective in the winter). As it happens the measurements of just one square of this stuff were exactly sufficient to supplement the window blind for which it was intended; in fact, it was as if it had been tailored for it! I wouldn't say it completely blocks out all light but it blocks out most of it and diffuses the strongest light which is the important thing leaving room even with a fierce blaze outside full of shadow. The material itself is reassuringly robust without being heavy per se, and the matt finish gives it a distinct mark of quality. I can imagine that it would be very easy to work with if you needed to adapt it for specific purposes. All round, great material!

Fantastic!
Works very well! But there's no hooks or pins, or anything to keep it attached to the wall. You literally just get the fabric you've paid for. I stapled velcro to it which did the job!

Let there not be light!
Fanastic stuff - really blocks out the light. Can't say much for the thermal aspect as this point, but the blackout really works and I no longer wake up at sunrise every morning! Material is easy to work with, and with a black and white side it's versatile for a lot of use cases. Would buy again!

Great for blacking out baby room night and day
Although these are curtain linings i purchased these to use as a standalone in my baby's bedroom so i could have a dark room at night and day! These work perfectly. I cut mine to size and also sowed on some velcro so that i can take them down if needed but then put them up again when i want. Mo light passes through whatsoever. These are a godsend and are a great alternative to some baby blackout blinds that are sold at a higher price (not sure why)

Cheaper than pricey blackout curtains
I bought 2 metres of this after seeing the prices of travel black out curtains for kids/babies for our bedroom. I stapled heavy duty velcro strips around the edges and taped the other side of the strips to the frame and its been up ever since! It's been a life saver! My 2 year old son has had no trouble sleeping or going for his naps with this darn sunny weather! SO MUCH MORE CHEAPER!

Works like a charm
It does what it claims and the quality is good. Not too thick, but it blocks out the light. Very happy with my purchase.

Thin but does the job
Material is a bit thin but is completely blackout material! Made my own black out blinds instead of buying some, spent £40 on all the materials but only used half so turned out £10 a window. Very happy!
