Such a great movie
Amazing movie and I really didn't expect to love it so much but I'm still thinking about it days after I've watched it. The beginning was a bit slow but its really worth the watch

I like this too much.
I watched this for the animation but now I'm emotionally unstable and cry myself to sleep every night.

Beautiful, amazing, fantastic but not perfect
Everyone knows Your Name and everyone claims it is peak animation and we'll in certain aspects it is, such as the gorgeous animation, great world building and heart warming story/charactersHowever the story is not just heart warming it's also excessively padded with literal hours of scenes that could have been cut to keep the movie flowing well.I never noticed on my first watch, but second time around it hit me. This is an incredibly boring movie, nothing happens until the last 30 minutes. It's nearly 2 hours of just getting extreme amounts of character development because the movie has so many characters it wants you to like and so little time to make you.Take for example the boss lady from Taki's job, there's an entire sub plot about how he likes her and ends up getting a date with her thanks to Mitzuha only to blow it because his personality wasn't girly anymore for obvious reasons, that's enough plot for an entire anime episode and considering the pay off of it is literally that the boss lady goes on a trip with him as support at the end of the movie, that means we just sat through nearly 30 minutes of this woman's developing relationship with Taki for it to not payoff and her to dissappear from the movie until she randomly decides she's now bffs with Taki at the end of the movie and goes on a trip with him (won't say what the trip is about)It just feels like they're so many points in this film you could yeet and it would be better for it, for one thing it wouldn't bore you to death on repeat watches
