Moves PLENTY of air for laser engraving
This is not the quietest inline fan on earth, but I'm using it to remove fumes from a laser engraver that has built in fans considerably louder than this fan unit so it's plenty quiet enough for my purposes. It moves a lot of air, more than enough if you're looking for a laser engraving fume extractor. The speed setting dial is garbage, it has a real nice solid feel to it but it basically has "off" "max" "a little less than max" as the speeds it will actually dial in for you. Again if you're looking to fume extract for laser engraving this is not a problem at all. The fan blades are less than 2 inches from the open end, so either hook up a line on both sides of the fan, put a grate on it, or plan to lose some fingertips because this fan rips and it doesn't have an "I better look out for people's fingers" setting. I love it for what it is though, a nothing fancy strong fan that will move plenty of air. Would recommend, would buy again!

Works great
I use this fan for a ventilation hood over my plasma table.

It's so good it's too much
Combined this with a carbon filter and ended up having to buy a "high cfm" bar kit to keep the walls of my 4x4 tent off my plants with the fan on minimum speed. This fan will definitely move a lot of air. The fan itself is less noisy than the cheap 6" vivosun inline fan I was using before but that moved half as much air.

Variable speed function is nice
This fan moves a lot of air on full power, so being able to turn it down is a nice feature. Its pretty quiet, and was easy to set up.

Gets heat around the house
This was easy to install. We got it because of the lack of air in our master bedroom. Once installed, air flow has not been a issue. Worth it!
