Q: Ladies with wide feet only - how is the toe box in this in the extra wide?

I actually bought my normal size and while the shoe had great cushion, the toe box was too narrow, more pointed. Since I loved the cushion feel, I bought another pair in a full size bigger and the widest width I could find. Love, love, love the shoes now!

Q: how are they on slippery surfaces?

They have a little more traction than the normal running shoe, due to the raised cleat-type heel areas ..They are considered Trail Running.Hybrids.. I use them primarily on cement street.. usually dont go walking in rain or slippery surfaces..

Q: do you need to use and insole with ASICS 2000 3?

What is the difference between the GT2000 3 and GT2000 2? I have the GT2000 2.

Q: Do these provide good arch support and cushion? Does it rub at the side of the heel?

Any of the 2000 series will provide a good amount of support and cushion. They are also built to avoid pronation. They have never rubbed on my heels. I have worn this brand of running shoes for at least 15 years with no problems.
