Terrific for tight spaces
Really easy to use. The App on my phone stores the measurements so I don't even have to write anything down. I can just keep taking measurements then refer back tot he App. Especially great for tight spaces where larger models are more difficult to have operating room. The screen is bright and easy to read. The finger hold makes it much easier to hold in place. All in all a GREAT buy!

very small and handy
a lot smaller than i expected but that’s good , i just wish the numbers on the screen was a little more defined ,everything is sort of blurry but you can still read it. maybe it was just a defective model i received or just a way to conserve power.

Awesome laser tape measure
Small, easy to hold and use, this little device helped me measure the square footage of my house in a matter of minutes. I did not download the app--it might be fine but I'm leery of giving Chinese companies access and entry to my data (and who knows what else) so I can't comment on the app. But as a measuring device, I highly recommend it.

For simple jobs probably perfect, for real use not so much.
I use a laser distance measuring tool pretty much every working day. I have an older model Disto that is gigantic and a e7500i. I have to send my newer one in for maintenance and there was a special on this particular measuring tool so I thought I would give it a shot. I wasn't expecting much but, but thought maybe in a pinch it would be a good back up. I will say that indoors it is super, super accurate up to the 30 feet that I was able to test. Roughly a 1/32nd off from my other 2 tools. This thing is tiny and accurate indoors and definitely has its uses there but that is about it. Unless you want to download an app that seems super sketchy and requires private information for registration the only feature you will get is a single measurement. For some that is all they need. I attempted to take a measurement outside, this thing is rated to 98 feet, in cloudy daylight, although I could see the laser bouncing off of a laser specific target at about 45 feet I could not get a reading. The best reading that I could get outside, cloudy winter Michigan day was 5 feet with a normal matte surface and 15 with a laser target. If you want a key chain to take single interior measurements, perfect tool. Could be great for a lot of interior estimations. But for roughly the same price you can get a Bosch that will at least work outdoors.

Fun, fast
I really like this gadget, and it is SO much handier (and faster) than pulling out a tape measure. I checked it and it is indeed accurate to within 1/16". Personally I think it's fairly priced. My old eyeballs would like a bigger display, but oh well...

Not as good as it seems
The app sucks, it breaks measurements often and to fix you have to start over. Also the measure tool itself stopped working. It won’t measure over 14’. Lastly, if you want to use it in the sunlight it won’t work. With the low light display, you cannot see it without overcast weather.

Very nice tool with an app
Very easy to use. Not sure how accurate it is but it gets the job done. The app is particularly easy to use

Device works fine, but not suitable for buyers outside USA
I like the minimalist design of this product and it took measurements accurately as intended. But it goes downhill from there.1. Screen display wasn't as clear as the sales image posted. One pic shows cover with warning, other pic shows that cover removed with a measurement taken. I could live with this minor flaw. Move on to next point.2. The larger flaw I can't get past is unfortunately due to the great original minimalist selling point. By default, the device measures: a) in Imperial / US unit of measurement (ft/inch). Where i'm from, SI/Metric units of measurement is used. b) in tail-based mode (includes the length of device in the measurement) - not front-based from where the laser is. So by default, if you take a measurement thinking it is point to point you'd end up with more than you thought and would need to remember to remove the device length from the results. The pictures and ad descriptions say you can switch and so does the picture I have attached of the user guide that comes with the product. HOWEVER, there is no way to do this from the device itself, it can ONLY be changed through the mobile app from Xiaomi. Here i'm thinking "I can live with that, I'd only need to make the change once and that'd be that."Download the app, registered a new account, tried to add the device and this is where I run into the biggest problem......The app restricts you from adding this device to the app unless you are in the USA region (GPS based), using a VPN to change your IP address to a USA IP won't work.No mention of this being a requirement in the product details or description. It shouldn't be taken off the Amazon AU marketplace. Now I need to pay for postage to send it back, wait for them to receive the package and confirm it before they issue a refund me the postage costs as well is also another inconvenience.
