Great Recipes -- even for plant eaters!
I don't eat meat. I occasionally eat seafood. So I am usually skeptical about cookbooks that aren't specifically for those on a plant based diet as they are filled with only meat options for the main course. Compared to other clean eating cookbooks the recipes are a lot simpler and quicker to make (and they don't rely on any crazy, hard to find ingredients that require a trip to the health food store.) I have had success with quite a few recipes out of this book (the pistachio tilapia is awesome!) but had to make sure I was reading my labels well. There is some reliance on processed foods (corn chips, dijon mustard, etc.) so it depends on how you are eating clean. (I have found that the definition clean eating varies some person to person.) If your diet calls for no processed foods ever, this isn't the book for you (unless you are willing to make everything from scratch - like mayo.) But if you are willing to read labels and find a "clean" or "cleaner" processed food without all the chemical preservatives, etc. this book would work for you. My family and I have really enjoyed it!

Best cookbook I own
This cookbook has exceeded my expectations in a big way. I bought this for our family to start eating better in the new year and after two weeks, we have yet to have a mediocre meal. Every single recipe we have tried so far have been unbelievably delicious! My husband and I have always eaten pretty healthy but we found ourselves doing "easy solutions" for our kids (nuggets, turkey dogs, PB&J). This cookbook both meets mom and dad's dietary requirements and our kids think they are yummy. Each recipe has been easy to read and make, quick, healthy and so good. Last night, my husband excitedly said "can't wait to try tomorrow's recipe!" My daughter thought that the polenta cakes with tomatoes and mushrooms was "better than chicken nuggets". My son said that the angel hair pasta with goat cheese and veggies was "yummo" (said between shoveling in his mouth). I love the pictures, tips on each recipe, and all the dietary info for each meal (if you are tracking). One of my favorite things is that healthy stuff is hidden in each meal, arugula in the pasta or cauliflower in mac and cheese. This truly is a cookbook for busy families, with meals that kids truly do love. I can't wait to try every single meal in this book.

Unpleased with recipes
I wanted to like this book, but I've tried some of the recipes and they were not good tasting to me. I followed the directions exactly as written. Some of the procedures didn't work well, either. For example, one fish recipe that I tried resulted in one side of the fish scorched and the other gummy. And the fish pieces were really dried out. Maybe my oven runs hotter or colder than the author's. Other dishes have not had flavors that I liked. Maybe the recipes will work for others, but they were not my favorites!

Great addition to your books!
This book was a recommendation from my sister. The author was spot on with the titles and who she is gearing this book towards.Pros:Great, delicious, recipes that are not too hardExtremely healthy, light and exciting food,...but delicious!Stretches your culinary experience to include new spices and ways of cooking dishes. *** This can be positive, BUT if you are unfamiliar with certain ingredients, your cooking time can be extended. For example, I never cooked with 5 Chinese Spice and it wasn't second nature to me. It came out awesome!Cons:Not too sure if this is "kid friendly"

Easy but creative dishes
I liked seeing all the nutrition facts and tips amongst the recipes and tons of pictures. I like that just because itโs a short ingredient list or short instructions it doesnโt lack flavor. Some recipes are family favorites that are made healthier, which I love! I have shied away from some of my family favorites because the amount of butter or sugar. I will definitely try these. I also like the feel of the book. It seems like it will hold up in the kitchen.

Title Is Misleading for Clean Eaters with Little Time for Cooking
So I bought this book, excited that there was finally a product out there for clean eaters that had quick and easy to make recipes. After looking through this book, it is clear that this book is not that book.My observations -* Almost all of the recipes have 10 or more ingredients - if I'm chopping up something or frying this and mixing together that - it takes me far more than 30 minutes to pull all of that together. I don't cook at top speed like I'm a Top Chef contestant.* There is a lot of reliance on whole grain tortilla chips and pita chips in the appetizer section. I personally don't think these qualify as "clean eating" - why not give us a good substitute for these processed foods? Just because it's "whole grain" doesn't mean its good for our bodies.* She uses corn tortillas and whole wheat pasta in quite a few recipes - same complaint as above - why are there so many recipes relying on these processed foods?* While it says "most recipes take just 30 minutes or less" I'm not quite sure where that claim is coming from - from my review of the book, a few recipes take 30 minutes or less (and I'm suspicious of even those) and the rest take an hour or more.I was excited to get this book, but it was such a let down. I can save you some money and frustration by telling you to just buy regular cookbook and substitute whole wheat and low-fat ingredients for the regular ones.

and I have found Clean Eating for Busy Families to be the best of the lot
I bought a couple other "clean eating" recipe books at the same time as this one, and I have found Clean Eating for Busy Families to be the best of the lot. The recipes are both practical and delicious. After getting some initial supplies in stock, I don't feel like I have to run out to the store for special ingredients, as I do for the other recipe books. Like the title suggests, the book is a great buy for household cooks who already spent their hours and energy at work but still want to make easy, tasty and healthy meals.

Very disappointed
I was really unhappy with this book. There are lots of ingredients for every recipe and it isn't as 'clean' as it makes out. I'd like to know where mayonaise and tacos are grown??!! It was a waste of money for me!

Food not normal
Once again a diet book does not use real everyday food. Used food I never heard of. This is not realistic. Should use normal food that u can buy at the supermart!

I really like this book so far...
I have tried about five meals from the book so far and all of them were a hit! They are healthy and taste great. Hubby loved them and while my daughter is only 11 months right now, I'm sure she'll like them down the road. Most meals were easy to prepare, some took a bit longer because of the peeling and chopping of veggies that was a bit time consuming. I might substitute some frozen veggies on evenings when I'm really strapped for time.

Delicious recipes. We are especially enjoying the seafood recipes ...
Delicious recipes. We are especially enjoying the seafood recipes.Kids friendly too! Our 6-year-old, 3-year-old, and 8-month-old are enjoying many of these recipes. The chicken fingers and fries were a hit, as I don't buy the processed versions.
