Cherry Quiet
Cheery keyboard arrived the following day - a Sunday, no less - great speedy delivery. The keyboard itself looks unassuming on the box, but once you take it out of the packing there is definite weight to it that makes it feel more expensive than it actually cost.On the keys all letters, numbers and symbols are slightly raised giving them a tactile element. The key action itself is firm and indeed, near-silent (I had been driving my gaming buddies mad with my clackety-clacking on a cheap Logitech keyboard), so no more loud typing or game action. All in all, a great keyboard for the price, with quite a low profile, even after the legs have been extended to angle it for typing. If you are looking for a silent keyboard on a budget and like the firm, positive response of keys when pressed, then this, no-fuss, functionally quiet keyboard will do the trick. Pleased to have finally found a keyboard that does what it says on the box.Should I encounter any issues a month down the line after gaming and typing I shall be sure to update this review.

Excellent keyboard
I bought this for work, where I like to use my own keyboard as you never know where other ones have been and who's used them (yes, I'm have a bit of a Howard Hughes thing going on). It's a great keyboard - it's nice and quiet and the quality is excellent. The only thing I don't like is the Cherry logo right in the middle of the wrist rest area.

Sticking keys
I bought this to replace a Microsoft keyboard which suffered rapid paint loss from the keys. The Cherry is good in this respect but suffers from really bad key sticking. Avoid.

Quiet, solid keyboard.
I bought this keyboard as my wife and I have very different ideas about what constitutes a reasonable bed time. Apparently, while lying in bed, she could hear me typing on my old keyboard. I have heard the some keyboards being described as sounding like somone slapping a yoghurt pot, I think that about sums it up.So, I am typing on this keyboard now. It has a very nice key action, the keys are more similar to laptop keys in that they are quite low profile which is a little strange for me as I rarely use laptops, however they keyspacing is standard and it is very nice to touch-type on. It is also very quiet. I wouldn't go so far as to call it silent but it is definitely a lot more subtle than my other one.The build quality is good, it feels sturdy and sits solidly on my desk. There are legs at the back to raise the angle and these are a good height.About the only thing I can say against this keyboard is that the manufacturer has decided to go for the ultrabright LED option for the indicator lights (NumLock, CapsLock, and ScrollLock). This is mildly annoying and, in truth, I thought that manufacturers had grown out of the habit of using the brightest LED they could find for everything. I guess not.All in all this is a very nice keyboard and at £20, an absolute bargain. I would highly recommend it.... I'm off to find some electrical tape to put over the LED lights.

Really wanted to like this but doesn't work properly
Good quality keyboard which had the unfortunate problem that keystrokes were missed.Initial impressions were very good for this keyboard. Build quality is excellent and keys felt good, although the travel is slightly short but the feel is excellent.I am quite a fast touch typist and unfortunately when I used the keyboard it would not register certain keystrokes 100% of the time. The key would still "click" which meant you thought you had hit it, but the keystroke would not register. This happened for probably 1 in 30 keystrokes so was quite annoying. After some experimentation I found if you hit the key dead centre it always worked, but hitting a key off centre produced this "missed keystroke" issue.I could have been unlucky as the one I received could have been a faulty item, but it looked like a design flaw to me.Somewhat sad to return it as it did seem like a well built item, but this issue I could not put up with.

Early promise, but just didn't deliver
Cherry used to be the bees knees in keyboards, and I've always been happy with them - until now. As a writer I do a lot of keyboard work, and from the outset I really liked the feel of this keyboard - solid, quiet, with just enough 'feel' to type quickly and accurately for long periods. But then the odd characters started to go astray. Maybe it was my fast typing. Most of them seemed to be missing spaces. When you do a lot of writing, it really throws one's rhythm having to stop and gobacktocorrectthingslikemissingspaces. Was it me or was it the keyboard? I resurrected my previous keyboard and did some tests, as fairly as I could. It was definitely the Cherry keyboard that was at fault, and not just the space bar either.I suspect the space bar has just one connector, in the middle. I tend to press it with my left thumb, and at the left edge of the space bar, and I think perhaps the sensor simply wasn't picking it up. Oh, and after 7 months most of the keys have now worn shiny too - inevitable on keyboards with heavy usage I guess, but not after 7 months.I would have given in 5 stars out of the box, but that's now down to 2 stars. It just isn't reliable I'm afraid, and I've replaced it. I won't buy Cherry again.

Best keyboard I've ever typed on.
I've used computers for 35 years (gosh I'm old :P ) and I have probably bought maybe 2 dozen keyboards in that time. I have NEVER bought the same keyboard twice - until I found this gem. I originally bought one a couple of years ago for the office, and now with homeworking being in full swing I sought out a second. It is by far the best keyboard for its price that I've ever seen. It weighs almost 1kg, has amazing tactile feedback with its scissor key switches, and has laser etched characters on the keys. The one I bought 2 years ago looks AND types as good as it did when I first bought it.Highly recommended!
