Retro Vintage LED 4w Globe Edison Style Filament Bulb Smoked Gold Glass G95 E27 Edison Screw

The bulb is listed as E efficiency rating on the box - I think whoever designed the packaging got it wrong - probably just lifted the chart from an actual incandescent filament bulb. I highly doubt they would go through the hassle and expense to get an actual EU energy rating. Which does not inspire consumer confidence - if this item was in a high street shop, I'm pretty sure it would be breaking EU law but because it's online, anything goes really.Anyway - it's a pleasant change that it's in a box at all, and not broken. It'a low bar to achieve but buying bulbs online is actually quite a challenge.As mentioned in another review - it comes with a horribly visible China Export mark with other specs and URL printed in bright reflective gold ink. What's all that about! It's in the most visible part of the bulb and let's be honest you're not buying a 4W light for it's light output!Some fine grit wet&dry sandpaper sorted it right out but not without scratches, so beware.The glass itself is free of scratches as it comes which is again, more than I've had from other suppliers.The gold tint looks very nice, but it does tint the light output very warm, and it might be too warm for some, so I wouldn't recommend these light for their light output. I would guess this is closer to 2000K when you consider the gold tinting effect.As the bulb is 4 watts and there are 4 thin LED strips, I would calculate that to exactly 1 watt per strip (do correct me if I'm wrong). It would make a nicer bulb to look at if the strips were 0.5W each and there were 8 of them, or if they were longer strips.The appeal of edison bulbs is the warm glow of the many many coils of filament that you can stare and and feel all cozy. The long filament distributes the light intensity over a larger area, whereas these LED versions have few retina-vapourising lengths of LED strip.So as an imitation, it misses the mark.But considering the long life of these, the low power consumption and they're a half decent compromise.Arrived in about 1 week, I would guess from a UK warehouseHope this is helpful.

Its not an A energy rating the box says it's an E. As a 4w I would of expected it to be an A so I'm confused. The bulb is a decorative one but came with branding and certified markings emblazoned on the globe part which is on show and looks particularly ugly. It did come off with a bit of fine sandpaper without damaging the bulb though.It comes on instantly and seems to be full brightness straight away to. I gave it over my dining table in my retro style kitchen. I'm not sure what wattage it equates to but it looks like a 40???? It's not very very bright its more subtle, could be because it gives off more of a gold glow, than a traditional warm white led, as it's designed to be an old fashioned golden glow. I like it.It is a nice decorative bulb at a bargain price so well done to long life lamp company.

These are perfect - they are a lovely colour and were not expensive. Some reviewers said there was an annoying and visible brand stencil - ours didn't come with them. We will definitely be getting more in due course. Great product.
