NOT for beginners
germinated after about 4 weeksexpecting them to be repotted for growth probably in 2-3 monthsYES they grow slow because you need to heat lamp them or glass house them for them to grow any other wayThese are NOT for thefeint fo heart. you need proper stable coditions i.e. super humid and constantly moist so always make sure its 100% covered up in cling film or a plastic jar.I expect to see a plant maybe xmas this year tha I can actually recognise as these are tough plants they only get food from eating bugs so without sunshine they simply will not grow

How to grow Venus Fly trap
I bought these seeds and planted them last August. I put them in a pot of compost. I placed the pot in a bowl of rain water. This is important because they live in nutrient poor soil so catch flies for nutrients. The rain water should come a third up the outside of the pot. Don't water from the top. I then put a cloche over the top with the vent open for plenty of air. I placed them in a sunny spot indoors. They like a humid environment. Don't put them outside or you will fry them. I have lots of green shoots and leaves. They don't look like a venus fly trap yet. Be warned they take 2 years to grow ! I am now writing in September 2013 1 year after i planted my seeds. The plant is flourishing but IT IS NOT A VENUS FLY TRAP ! It is a trailing plant with little purple flowers. I don't know what it is!
