This dehumidifier works!
After almost 2 years this dehumidifier is still working great. It manages to keep our huge basement moisture free. When it is not on for any length of time, I notice immediately. My body reacts to the mildew with congestion and itchy eyes. The only flaw is that it is loud. If we are watching a movie in the basement, we need to turn it off to hear.

LITTLE LOUD, BUT GREAT HUMIDIFIER!
I GAVE THIS HUMIDIFIER A 3 STAR RATING FOR NOISE. IT'S NOT REALLY FAR, BUT IN ALL HONESTY, IT IS LOUD. NO MATTER WHAT SPEED ITS ON. ON THE GOOD SIDE, IT'S GREAT FOR SUCKING THE HUMIDITY OUT OF WHATEVER SPACE IT'S IN. I HAVE MINE IN A 15×20 GYM AND IT DOES AWESOME. YOU DO HAVE TO EMPTY THE BUCKET ONCE A DAY, BUT ITS WORTH IT. THERE IS A DRAIN PLUG ON THE BACK AND YOU CAN HOOK UP A NORMAL STANDARD GARDEN HOSE TO THE BACK TO DRAIN. THE DRAWBACK IS THIS MODEL DOES NOT HAVE A PUMP. SO YOU HAVE TO KEEP THE UNIT HIGHER THAN THE HOSE AND THE DIRECTION'S ADVISE THAT THE HOSE BE NO LONGER THAN 5 FT.? TO ME IT'S EASIER TO EMPTY THE TANK. NICE UNIT

Works Better Than Expected
I just purchased my first home. The home inspector noticed moisture in the basement and suggested that I purchase a dehumidifier to reduce the growth of mold. I'm so glad I did because the first week we had to empty this thing probably 15 times a day. I've had it about a month or two and now we only empty it 2-3 times a day. I use it in my basement. My house is approx 1200 sq ft. I'm so glad I purchased this. Well worth the money. My basement does not smell bad anymore, neither does it reek of a wet smell anymore.

Love this thing
Love this thing. It's quiet. There is the sound of the motor, but it's an acceptable hush, even at highest speed. It blends into the background. I got this after returning the Fridgidaire model. Even though that one was highly rated, it rattled like crazy and it was a loud motor. It was the chasis, not the motor. I sent it back after 2 days. Another plus for the whilrlpool is that it's smaller than other units. I had to double-check I got the 50 pint instead of the 30 pint. About 2/3 the size of other 50 pint dehumidifiers. Finally, it does not emit heat. it's a cool discharge of air blowing out. Very happy with this one. It's sleek looking, too.

It is still working fine after two years.
This machine is manufactured by TCL and works really great so far for about two years. (bought this one on Oct 2018). It can get hot if running for an hour or so continuously.I give it a 5 ***** comparing to my fridgedaire, which I bought around the same time, and is already dead!!!!

Whirlpool Energy Star 70-Pint Dehumidifier with Built-in Pump,
This dehumidifier replaces a Whirlpool purchased in 1995 and finally quit. This new Whirlpool is pretty amazing, with the unit set at 50% RH and low fan setting the area is kept at 39% RH. The new unit runs for a few minutes and shuts down and waits. The noise level is very low really. With the unit set to pump setting the dehumidifier is maintenance free and just sits there and does its job. I’m happy with this purchase and expect to get many years of service from this new unit.

Set it and forget it!!
The pump feature is great. It just runs and does it's thing. I replaced an older unit with a dump bucket. I work 12 hour shift so it was not running a lot of the time waiting to be dumped. My basement is much drier with the new one. It is a bit noisy but it's moving a lot of air. I would not want it in a bedroom but if you need to remove 70 pints per day this is the ticket.

pump did not last
I loved it, but it only lasted just over 2 years. It continually shut off displaying an E3 message. After checking a few things out, found out the pump needs to be replace. Wish I know who to contact about pricing a new pump. Frustrating because it was over $300.
