Q: Is it right that this product only kills male clothes moths?

yes these are excellent and I have found less moths by using them

Q: Could anyone tell me how many months these last unopened i.e.sticky stuff covered up?

We've used them after 6 months and they caught some. I don't know how much longer they'll last though. We keep them in a sealable sandwch bag when they're delivered.

Q: Do these have a mothball smell?

Hi, no - no discernible smell at all and I am very sensitive to smell.

Q: do these come with the holder?

No. That is a separate item. It is not needed absolutely but as the items are very sticky, the holder does stop things sticking to them (except moths of course).
