Great Backup or for small Jobs, Sturdy and gets Stuck In!
I have been tasked with starting to regrout some of the floors in the house, i picked up a multi tool and some blades for the bulk of the work but needed a rake to get into hard to reach places. I have a few Silverline tools all of which are top notch quality, this has good reviews so i picked one up.The Good* The rake is made from a single piece tough molded plastic handle with a blade attached. You could probably use to break a window or chip into rock if you required, it is very very tough.* The rake comes with two blades which is a bonus, you simply use a philips screwdriver to unscrew the little screws on the end of the handle to remove the spare blade and save it for later when required.* Using the rake was super easy, the blade doesn't warp or bend it fixed well to the handle, i have been able to get into lots of nooks and crannys around the toilet base, sink base and also its really good for taking the grout out between floor and wall.* I have used other rakes in the past, some have come with blades that were very thin or too thick, the grout space i worked on in the pictures is a 4mm gap, the rake fits well into it, doesnt slip out and isnt in danger of getting stuck, it moves nicely along albeit as with anything by hand it can be done better with a power tool.* As with all Silverline Tools there is a lifetime Guarantee, ive never needed to use one yet but am sure they would replace it in the event it failed or broke. The Could Be Better* There is very little at this price point, the durability and ease of use to suggest to improve, if there was one thing i would say it is that the rake is quite long, i managed all of the crevices i needed to get into just about with some inventive angles to get leverage, you may want to consider also picking up a slightly shorter one depending on gaps you need to get into.Overall i would highly recommend this, its super tough, comes with two blades, a lifetime guarantee, brilliant value, and it works and works well. As said i used this as a back up to a multi tool but if you have the patience and the hand strength then it would most probably take the grout of anything you could throw at it.Five Stars.

Larger than the standard size but effective
This is larger than the normal Grout rakes with the blades also being longer. This is great for long channels but not so good in tight corners due to the handle length.Having 2 blades is a bonus at this price point and seem to be as robust as some of the branded blades. One issue I did have hence the 4 stars was that the plastic around the nuts holding the screws in was not strong enough to stop the nut from turning when trying to unscrew the screw.Basically the screw and nut turned together without loosening the screw. The other side was fine and after using an adjustable spanner I managed to loosen the second screw.Overall very impressed for the price.

This Silverline 698461 Grout Rake is just the job
I have a cubicle KUDOS Shower unit. The Curved glass door hinges broke and I decided to replace the hinges and rehang the door. However, whilst the slider door was out of commission I decided to give the whole tiled area within a makeover, that involved two cubicle walls each up to the 2metre high level and 1.5m width for each. I wasn't looking forward to raking out the old white grout but it had to be done. I have to say the Silverline Grout Rake made it an easy and satisfying task. Two blades are supplied but only needed one, so I had a spare! So good I bought a second Silverline Rake and will use it on the kitchen floor porcelain tiles. I can't see how you can get a better rake out there for the price.

Can work very well if used carefully, particularly for claening the grout
Works well unless the gaps between wall tiles is small it you intend to remove the grout to a deep depth ready for re-grouting. I found that if used carefully using 2 hands (one to pull or push the handle and the other to press the head into the grout groove) and changing the angle they could clean the top surface of the grout nicely without removing much and negated the need to re-grout which saved a lot of time.

Very good for price
This is a fantastic little tool and it comes with a spare blade, I had to regrout my shower room floor as the wife insisted on white grout although i wanted grey as it is more durable so we ended up with white, to cut a long story short after a year the grout has become a little grubby so I looked around for a solution and found this tool, it is very sturdy and worked a treat, I had visions of being on my hands and knees for hours scraping away but in reality the whole job took less than an hour and I didnt even use the spare blade. I would highly recommend this tool

Brilliant grout removal tool
Needed to replace large floor tile so had to remove all grouting around damaged tile and rest of tiles for re grouting. Very handy tool, very easy to use, easy to hold and comes with spare blade. Good quality, low price.

Cheap & Effective
I've only had to use this on a few wall tiles and it's very effective. I can't comment on its durability but for a few wall tiles I didn't have to exert too much force to remove the grout.

A great grouting rake
Re-grouting is a labourious and time consuming job but is made somewhat easier with this rake. Lightweight but solid construction, it's comfortable to hold and easy to use.It comes with a spare blade already attached as shown in the picture, which you have to remove before use. At around 2mm width, the blade fits nicely between the tiles. The method I used was to rake out a couple of millimetres of old grout and then refill with new grout. You do have to be careful though to keep the blade in the joint, as it's easy to slip and scratch the tile. Yes, a multitool is easier, but if you don't have one of those, this cheap alternative will do just as good a job if used carefully at a fraction of the cost.As with all Silverline tools, this comes with a lifetime guarantee, so what's not to like. I would recommend it and I hope this review has been of help.
