Dansk Wood Classics Round Salad Bowl, 6.15 LB, Brown

I have yearned for a beautiful wooden salad bowl for several years, wanting to savor the gently scented wood each time I used it. I didn't really seen any that I liked however until I came across this and fell instantly in love with the gorgeous array of colors and the unusual design. This is a work of art that enhances not just its salads but the dining table.My only complaint--if it can be called that--is the generous size. I did research on the Dansk website to see if they made the same bowl in a smaller size but it turned out this is the only one. (I did see that they made matching individual bowls, however.) It truly is large. You can fit a salad that will serve a crowd in here, making it perfect for holidays and parties. But I rarely host those so I use it every day for just two of us. It works, it's glorious, it's just that the salad doesn't come up more than halfway at most.I tend to rub a cut garlic clove inside it every time I use it. Slowly, it has taken on that scent but it is subtle. I have also made Caesar salad dressing in it, and that works particularly well since the it narrows down as it goes lower, thus ensuring that the ingredients stay in the bottom of the bowl until the lettuce is added and tossed. The bowl itself is rather heavy and despite the smaller portion being on the bottom, completely stable. The two servers work well together to allow you to grasp a good portion of the salad (including all of its ingredients) and transfer it to a plate. I had been dubious initially that they were both "spoons" but it has turned out to work far better than a fork and spoon.Is it expensive? Yes indeed, it is. (It's one reason it took me two years to work up the courage to spend the money for it.) But this is one of those lifetime purchases. You'll likely serve salads from this for decades to come. I give this my highest recommendation.

The vendor sent very fast & product arrived new, in an unopened Dansk box. The bowl is to be a nice gift for a friend. It got such rave reviews on how beautiful it is but although it's a nice, wooden bowl, the one I received looks nothing like the one in the picture online. It's lighter in color & each wood section is so different than the next in color & pattern, it looks like the multi-pieced bowl that it is rather than complimentary design of the one pictured online. Since I'll be giving it as a gift, I won't be the one to use it. It looks to be well pieced together from what I can tell.

This is a gorgeous bowl, but make no mistake about its size. The bowl is huge. For comparison, an Instant Pot can fit inside it. My largest colander is smaller than this bowl. It's much too big for a personal salad, but works great for King Crab. Just remember to clean it immediately after use, don't allow it to stay damp, and periodically condition and/or oil it.

This is perfect bowl to use or take to large gatherings for salads and pastas etc. its sturdy and won't chip or break being transported to destination. It would easily feed about 50 people. It's real wood and a beautiful bowl to set around in home with fruit etc. In it. Love it. Great asset to add to your collection of kitchen essentials.

This bowl is huge!! So beautiful!!! I have used it for all kinds of salads, including fruit salads. When not using, it is the centerpiece on my dining room table. I absolutely love it!!

The bowl is fabulous...everything I wanted. Very solid, very pretty, the shape makes it easy to toss salads and the perfect size for a party.....which we do alot. BUT....the first two I got were defective. I had to return them both back. I almost gave up on it but I had bought it specifically for a party I wanted, called amazon and got the nicest guy. He shipped it for free in 2 days and told me give them one more try. It came today perfect!! SO it worth all the hassell???....yes because it is a really beautful salad bowl and just what I wanted!

I returned this item. It was HUGE! I wanted a salad bowl - you would need a huge group of family to utilize this bowl. It was beautiful but I even tried sitting it in the middle of the table and it was so big it overwhelmed.

Large enough to do table side caesar salad for 6 people. Beautiful quality. 100% satisfied with this product.
