NOTE - I was not given this product for free, or at a discount, so you can trust my review to be genuinely unbiased!
Fantastic tool, holds plenty of gas, is reliable at lighting, gets hot fast, has a built in stand, blow torch mode... Only caveat is that there is an ''exhaust' hole in the chimney cylinder which will rotate when removed, fitted. If this port is pointing DOWN when the iron is on its rest it will burn the surface the iron is sitting on. Easily remedied by making sure the hole faces upwards when in use (away from the stand) but worth paying attention to!

what an awesome soldering iron
what an awesome soldering iron... I brought this for the fact of just using it now and again rather than turning on my solder station and its awesome I can't put it down... now if I'm only doing bits and bobs I use this which is most of the time unless I have a load in to do... I will say the little stand it comes with is a bit small because when you place it down the heat escape out the vent hole is a little close to what ever it was on so don't lay it down without remembering this also when soldering make sure you turn that vent hole away from the solder as again that vent hole can burn your finger as its a little badly placedall this being said I'd still buy it over and over again as its awesome

A disapointing product
I have used gas soldering irons before and this is the worst I have used. It has no built in lighter and so you have to carry matches/lighter (in fairness, it doesn't claim to have one). When fully screwed up the soldering tip wobbles. This is really annoying when trying to solder. I have used it for about 20 joints and the tip is quite badly worn away, indicating poor quality metal used in the tip. I placed it in a soldering iron stand and the plastic body got very hot, making the whole end loose. All in all I am unimpressed with the standard of this tool. On the plus side, it does heat up quickly and the 'blow torch' mode is fine for heating up heat shrink sleeves.

Brilliant!
This is an amazing piece of kit. I've tried three others, and this has turned out to be the best by far. The only downside is that the tiny hole where heat comes out needs to be turned upwards, otherwise you can get caught.Replacement tips can be an issue too.For best results use LEAD based solder. It's pretty cheap on here, but it sticks like glue.

Essential tool for the professional and DIY'er
I should have bought one of these years ago. Very easy to use and handle, quicker to heat up than an electric iron. Removing the tip allows the iron to be used as a blow torch and is perfect for heatshrink.

Rubbish - is now in bits in the bin
I don't like giving negative reviews and accept I might just have been given a dud - but:- could not refill it with gas no matter how hard I tried - so was useless- took it apart to find out why and was astonished at the low quality of the components.- gas container just was filled with two small sponges ??- but even if could fill with gas - would always need a separate flame source to light itand would need asbestos gloves also - to pull tip forward to light gas - how this item passes safety regulations I don't know.
