Excellent Value
The ferro rod, whistle and cordage alone are worth the price. I believe it's a really great value. Everything is made well, the whistles work fine, the ferro rod includes a scraper striker and the paracord is wrapped well. I did find that the ferro rod works best with the striker when you angle it towards the rod when striking. Don't just hold the striker perpendicular, get aggressive with the angle like you're trying to cut into the rod and it strikes well. The compasses both worked fine on the bracelets I received. I try to keep on of these in all of my vehicles and on my emergency bags. I highly recommend at this price just to have something else that "might" help if ever needed but hopefully you won't ever need ;-)I'll update my review should anything change.

Everything on this is a gimmick to varying degrees
Eh, I don't really like this. Not that I thought it'd even come close to a replacement for the components of it in their own dedicated forms, but was hoping for at least an accompanying 2-is-1 theory.Compass: 1 of the 2 bracelets, the compass doesn't work at all. Doesn't move. The other, that does move, is off by a wide margin. The compass was the thing on this that I least cared about (I wouldn't have minded NO compass on it), and there's a reason there are expensive compasses for sale. I would not use this compass if accurate navigation was even remotely important to you.Ferro rod: the thing I was most excited about. Again, a fail. It's so thin and short that at best I can get a miniscule spark or two coming off of it...every 10-15 or so strikes. For anyone that reviewed that they love the ferro rod, it works well, etc., please, actually attempt to ignite tinder with it before you're in a situation where it's vital to do so. I'm not new to these rods either, it's just that bad. I would not use this if starting a fire was even remotely important to you. Get a rod that is longer and a larger diameter and you'll be showering sparks off of it, albeit, it will cost you more than the price of this bracelet...but to me, it's fiat currency well spent for such an important tool.Whistle: decent, not great. I wouldn't call this a "fail" necessarily, but here again, get a dedicated whistle (typically 120 db or louder vs. this one's advertised 100 db, and I have my doubts as to the accuracy of this stated decibel level...and they're typically still inexpensive and lightweight) if being heard from a farther distance is important to you. 1 of my stars is for the whistle, because it does work (just not nearly as good as others out there).Paracord: even this seems just so-so. Again, this isn't a "fail" necessarily, making up the 2nd of my star rating, but even for paracord this leaves something to be desired. Maybe it's my not-so-great eyesight, but I can't distinguish any strands inside of the sheathing; it's just a fluffy mess of string in there as far as I can see. Would still be suitable for super lightweight applications, like a clothesline or maybe to run between trees to pitch a lightweight tarp shelter....but get yourself some good 550 (or better) paracord if heavier duty usage is important to you.The 3rd star is because, despite all of my grievances, in the end it's still better (in some ways) than nothing.Again, all of the components of this are available, albeit at a higher price point for each, as a dedicated item and should be seriously considered if you want to improve your chance of weathering an actual survival situation. I did not go into this thinking that any component would be as good as a dedicated item, I just hoped that some of them could at the very least supplement my dedicated items, and unfortunately they missed the mark to some degree on every single one. At worst, I figured an extra 10 feet of cord on my wrist would be SOMETHING, but sadly, I don't even really like the cord all that much.I don't enjoy leaving less-than-stellar reviews, ever, but unfortunately to me, this deserves it.

Just in case, I guess
I guess don’t know how good it works till it’s really needed. Seems good quality. Easy to wear. Compass seems to be facing north. Parachute cord seems good quality but once unraveled will not be able to put back to wristband again. Has Flint and steel with small sharp edge. Will be nice to have if I ever get into an emergency which I do not plan to do.

Rugged and Masculine Looking Bracelets
My family and I are always hiking and camping so I thought these would be great for my husband to wear whenever we’re outdoors for an extended period of time. The woven parts of the bracelet are perfect as they’re completely taut and have no loose edges. The compass parts are better looking than I anticipated since the enclosure is crystal clear; usually small resin or plastic parts take on a cloudy appearance on edges but the compasses don’t have that problem. I like that this set comes in 2 colors too. Great accessories for outdoorsy people!

Not bad for the price
Having the ferro rod built in, getting one of these would be a fair price, but you get two, so it's definitely worth it. The compass is a little off on one of the bracelets, but it's not terrible. I also like the built in whistle, although, it's not super loud, so I'm not sure how practical it really is. But yeah, ten feet of paracord and a built in ferro rod, that easily makes this worth it.

Adjustable but some features not easy to use.
One thing about these paracord bracelets is that for the price it is not a bad deal. Some of the multiple features fall short on their actual usefulness. The para cord itself as the main feature appears to be of good quality. I got one each of a camo colored and black bracelets. The size of the bracelets can be adjusted, though they appear to be more fitted to men that smaller wrists of women. Paracord can be used in a variety of applications in survival circumstances. The clasp of the bracelet was designed with built in features.First there is a compass. It’s a tiny plastic compass that has very little accuracy. I would not recommend relying when you need to pinpoint a bearing in a survival situation.Second is the whistle. It’s pea-less, so it will work in a variety conditions. It might take a lot to damage as the plastic seems very durable. Damage through breakage may be the only concern about the whistle. The next feature is a mini mirror and saw. The piece of metal is incorporated into the clasp. The mirror is fairly reflective, but I am not sure it would get attention in all needed circumstances. Releasing the clasp also reveals the mirror is a tiny saw, just shy on an inch wide, possible use for the saw could be on small branches and saplings. It’s overall usefulness I question. On the other side of the clasp is a ferro rod that can be struck with the saw to create sparks: a fire-starter. The rod is so short and the design between the teeth of the clasp make it nearly impossible to use as a fire-starter.The bracelets are put together well, but the features fall flat in usefulness. If you spend serious time out of doors or plan to, buy yourself a decent compass and fire starter. For the price as said before, the paracord and whistle are worth it for the price without depending on the features that don’t live up to their applications.
