So I was really hoping this was going to be a win with my kiddos and for the most part it was. They really like to color sort, fitting all the pieces into the wooden block and of course stacking. My only issue is that the blocks are very smooth for being wood which means you cannot actually build with them like indicated on the pictures. We tried to make the arch several times but the smooth texture and weight of these make it impossible to hold up. So while my kiddos do enjoy it, they run out of what they can do with it after they sort and stack several times.

These blocks are hexagon shaped and come in pastel sherbet colors. My almost one year old great niece loves these blocks! And who wouldn't? I love them, too! They're nice and chunky so her little hands can grasp them easily. There are no sharp edges so when she tastes them, she doesn't hurt her gums or new little teeth and they are easily washed. They fit together in such interesting ways. The best part of all in my book is that they encourage creative play. Kids have to use their imaginations instead of being told or shown what to do and how to do it. There are no blinking lights or beeping buzzers or digitized voices and images assaulting all of the users (and observers) senses! That's the best kind of toy there is. One little note, the colors of the blocks are accurate in the photos you see of the box. In the last photo I posted (the one of the actual blocks) the colors are super saturated, for some reason. In reality, they are very pastel and very "sorbet" as described.

The blocks are cute and sturdy but too smooth and you can’t really build anything on the hexagon side just the top or bottom

I love this set of stacking blocks by Hexablox. I received 39 hexagon shaped blocks in a variety of six colors. The colors are lime, mint, light blue, yellow, pink and violet. The paint is nontoxic and the color saturation is very good.All surfaces of the wood blocks are very smooth. Great for tender little hands to play with. However, it is difficult if not impossible, to build upright arches with these blocks.Still very fun for imaginative play and good for practicing hand/eye coordination skills.I will be using these colorful and well-made blocks as props in my photos for Instagram.
