I use the brushes for my painting classes twice a week, so it is not much of work. I do not use a solution to clean my brushes during painting, I just wipe them out with a sheet of yellow pages. What I have to say, hairs do not fall out from the brush even if I wipe them really hard to get out of the paint to change the color. I mark one star down because of the black paint on the brush start to disappear. It doesn't affect the quality of the painting, but it is not a 5-star. Also, the brushes are more on the soft side, which is totally up to personal preferences. They are firm enough to be used with oil and provide beautiful brushwork and textured strokes.

I love Zem brushes! I have found no shedding, clumping, or mis-shaping with them. I am a fairly new painter, acrylics on canvas, and get frustrated with product I can afford that always seems to be poor quality. Then I tried Zem. Much better! I was in an art class, recently, and the instructor came by to explain something. He took my brush, showed the technique and then said, "This is a nice brush!" This from an artist with his own line of brushes. I am pleased.

I have tried many different brands of hogs bristle brushes over the years and these are my favorites. I use a dry brush scumbling technique which is hard on any brush and these hold up as well as many more expensive ones I’ve tried in past. They also are more resistant to shedding than most. Sooo annoying to find loose bristles in the finished layer. The filberts are just the right shape to suit me. I will purchase theses again ( I already have 4 times)

These don’t have a great texture for painting. They’re kind of stiff and scratchy - even with a bit of oil rubbed in. I’ve only used them a few times as I really don’t like the feel of them
