Tudor Roses: From Margaret Beaufort to Elizabeth I

A book for true history boffins?
I imagine this book could appeal to history academics - others have mentioned the level of detail, suggesting thorough research - but for me it really lacked an engaging author voice. From the beginning the style was dry and bit clunky - wordy sentences which lacked the syntactic variety to hold my attention. A potentially fascinating subject rendered a little dull and lifeless! There are many, many authors who specialise in this period of history and I'm afraid, for me, this didn't stand up to the competition. But that's just my opinion! Readers which a much higher boredom threshold may get a lot more out of this book.I would have kept it, as I don't generally approve of returning books regardless of quality, but it arrived damaged (cover scuffed and scratched). All in all not a great purchase!
