This does not work. I had high hopes, even bought a large pack of the 9V batteries for it. We placed the birdhouse in two locations, first one by our back fence pointed towards the neighbors yard where they have the incessantly barking dogs. The green active light flashed, and when the dogs barked it turned red. And they continued to bark, throughout the night and into the morning they continued to bark. We gave this 5 days and hoped it would work but it hasn't so now we begin the return process as we search for something that works. Our last resort will be anonymously gifting the neighbors bark collars for the holidays.

Within moments of hanging this outside, the blissful sounds of silence filled the air...a woof or two, then absolutely NOTHING! With three or four different dogs, within a few houses on both sides and in the back of my house, the cacophony can get overwhelming but now, only peace and tranquility! I hung this from the soffit just outside my kitchen window, facing all the yards with dogs. I turned it on at dusk and it worked through until I was ready to go to work and I shut it off. THANK YOU for the first good night's sleep I've had since I moved in a year ago!!

I'm not sure how to feel. Bought this to try to discourage my neighbor's 4 small dogs from barking constantly. It appeared to work for the first 4-5 days. I would occasionally hear one bark and then silence.After 4-5 days, it seemed to lose effect, although I think now only one of the dogs is doing the barking instead of all four.So, just not sure whether it's truly effective or not. It's possible that the one dog that continues to bark is just hard of hearing but I'm not sure, so 3 stars for this product.

If I had reviewed this the first week it would have been high. The first four or five days my female Australian Cattle dog was scared of the noise. It was quiet for once. The male Australian Cattle dog didn't seem to mind it, but he's not the one that starts the barking, so it wasn't a problem. After four or five days, the red light went off at any noise. It went off when I talked and I'm female. However, only the light was going off. The dogs didn't even look at it. Before they looked up at it when it went off. I turned it off for awhile, tried different settings, and took the batteries out and put them back in (they were brand new). Nothing worked. The red light flashed randomly.

Our neighbors have 2 dogs that just bark at nothing! All day every day! Seriously a mouse could fart and they would hear it and bark for 20 minutes!! Yes, we have talked to them about it and they don't really care. My neighbors response was "well you really would have hated me when I was breeding small dogs cause they can bark"... So we went to the HOA and they couldn't do anything other then send their landlord a letter. Since that hasn't worked out for us and the constant barking we decided on this little contraption. The first week was AMAZING!! The dogs would bark and then take off running to the other side of the yard. Now a week later and they must be used to it. We have changed the batteries and it worked again for another 24 hours but now they are back at it all day long! Maybe if I had 4 more of these pointed at their yard it would really work but I'm not willing to spend any more money on these dogs. My suggestion is to just buy earplugs!

4 stars only because in the rain this got water in it and the battery rusted a bit. Other than that this thing seems to work, not 100 percent but I think some of that has to do with where ours is located. Our neighbors dog used to bark all day every day and now he seems to have chilled out a little bit.

I have two dogs: a Labrador who’s quiet and a stray I rescued who’s a real chatterbox. The night yapping was getting to be too much (read as: no sleep).We’ve tried no bark collars, reinforcement of behaviors...everything.We tried this out last night and experienced peace of sleep for the first time in a long time.Just ordered a second one for my parents who have neighbors with obnoxiously loud dogs.

This works amazingly well! One nine volt battery and it's up-and-running. We have four dogs next door that bark constantly. The neighbor is unwilling to do anything to stop them, and the law-enforcement alternatives are time-consuming and expensive. We purchased this, hung it up facing over the wall, and the barking stopped almost immediately. Going on day 4 now in blessed silence!
