SDC Nutrition About Time Whey Protein Isolate, Banana, 2 Pound

I became a forum junkie while preparing for Bariatric Surgery. If I didn't have such a problem with sweet, sugary food, I wouldn't have needed the surgery to begin with. But I can't stand artificial sweeteners. Sugar is a gift from above.... why mess with that? So my searches were made a bit more complicated because I wanted a Whey Protein Isolate shake high in protein, low in carbs, without artificial sweeteners that wasn't going to make me wish for death. Thank goodness I read about this one on a forum. I was able to order two sample packets of different flavors from About Time for only $5 including shipping and handling. I had high hopes for the Birthday Cake powder, but I found it seriously lacking. It was pretty bad. So the bar was already set pretty low for the Banana shake. But I liked it! The true test for me is that I'm able to drink the shake as it is without any additives; i.e. fruit, sweeteners, etc. Now the one complaint that I have is that the shake does not mix in a blender or with ice. So if you're the type that likes smoothies, this one will probably not work well for you. It blends up very nicely in a regular shaker cup with cold Almond milk. Adding two servings of this shake to my diet while I was pre-op (breakfast and an in-between snack) helped me shrink my liver prior to surgery. It also has been beneficial in helping me stay healthy post-surgery as there were times that I just couldn't tolerate any solid food. I've only tried four of their flavors (Birthday Cake, Vanilla, Strawberry and Banana). This one by far is my favorite.

I give this 5 stars for being: Whey Isolate and not a blend of concentrate and other crap protein but for the Cinnamon Swirl it loses a star. The flavor might as well be plain. There is hardly any cinnamon or sweet flavor to it at all. I decided to add some Trader Joe's Pumpkin Spice that I keep on hand year round for pancakes, coffee etc.. and it did help but I wasn't over the moon. I LOVE this company and the quality products it has but since this review is specific for the CINNAMON SWIRL flavor it gets a 4. Now the Mocha Mint is my favorite and I order it directly from the company along with their protein water which I buy by the case. You get what you pay for so this is on par for higher quality proteins and is a must for me.

This protein purchase was highly anticipated!. I've been using protein powders almost daily for 6 months and it has been either chocolate or vanilla because it's SO difficult to find an all natural powder in different flavors like this cinnamon swirl. So when I found this, I was ecstatic! It wasn't in stores around here so I ordered it and waited not so patiently. It was to arrive Friday. So all day Friday, I made little girl squeals and played up the delivery. We arrived home and there it was! I quickly opened the box (squealing yet again) and popped open the lid. I took a big sniff and...what?! I looked at the label to find STRAWBERRY! Disappointed to say the very least.I called Amazon (btw, this came from a 3rd party shipper) and they remedied the best they could. My protein should be here today sometime (it's Monday).So this review is NOT based on taste but based on shipper performance. I'll update once I'm able to taste what I actually ordered.

I think this a Whey Powder is clean tasting, very light flavor but it whips up so thick and rich with skim milk, that the texture feels sinful! I add extra cinnamon to enhance the cinnamon flavor and add 1/4 tsp of vanilla bean paste. It really tastes decadent and is so healthy - no added extra fillers to worry about. Will definitely order another flavor to try!!

Very disappointed.I usually buy plant based proteins so I am used to that clean, not artificial taste and was really looking forward to this Cinnamon Swirl flavor. However, it tasted so bland that I can barely taste it in my pancakes, oats or yogurt (same as if i bought unflavored and sprinkled cinnamon in it). My purpose for this protein was to use it as flour and flavoring in my pancakes and to really satisfy sweet cravings via shakes and frozen yogurt and it failed to deliver.Disssapointed i spent money on this would be too much of a hassle to return it since I already threw out the box.

This protein powder is sweetened with stevia, rather than one of the other headache-inducing pseudo chemical artificial sweeteners. Stevia is a natural plant with sweet leaves. Stevia is the first sweetener I've ever had which didn't have a terrible aftertaste or cause me headaches. As a result, I actually like the taste of this powder, even when mixed with plain water. I won't buy any other brand after tasting this stuff.

It's so hard to find good, clean protein. This protein has very few ingredients, low cal, low carb (sweetened with stevia). I have tried cinnamon swirl and cake batter - both tasted great. Cinnamon swirl reminds me of the milk left over after cinnamon toast crunch. Since I don't eat that anymore I'm pretty stoked about that. Also makes awesome protein pancakes! Definitely recommend this over anything else - and I did a lot of research and testing!

It tastes more like water and cinnamon than anything else. Very disappointed with the flavor.Doesn't have that somewhat 'creamy' flavor many other shakes have. Will not buy again (at least not this flavor, not sure about any others). The one good thing is that it is not sweetened with splenda like so many other whey proetin shakes are.
