How long do they last before they need replacing

I only use these collars, no others. It depends - will you replace when unusable or when the colour has frayed? It's true colour goes quite quickly, about a month depending on frequency of your cats scenting activity. The collar itself however can go many months. I replace ever 6-8 months, just because the collar ends eventually fray making it a little awkward to put on. However, i take it off and put on very regularly (3-5 times a day) which causes the ends to split, as I have a cat GPS which comes off to charge and on every time they go outside. If it's on for a long time without coming off and aren't too bothered about colour, a year would be easily achievable if not more. For the price and quality I really do recommend these - for outdoor cats especially. My car Pippin is awful for getting caught on things, so she often comes home with it stretched around her middle or leg. She's not too uncomfortable and not harmed at all, preventing collar lose and preventing your cat from harm - I won't trust any other collar than these, regardless of colour fray. I have tested and tried, and it is safe and good quality. If you are buying for reflective colour, or will go quickly, but I compromise for how good it is stretch wise.

Would these fit a Maine Coon?

I don't know how big a maine coon is but if it has a neck same size as a border terrier it will be a tight fit so I cannot really say sorry

Are these buckle fastened or snap fastening

These are buckle fastening with the elasticated safety release. At Paradise Pets we have the Ancol red collar of this style in a snap buckle which is made especially for us by Ancol. If you prefer the clip style just message upon ordering to request 3 x red with clip. Alternatively search Amazon for Ancol gloss collars - these are reflective with the plastic clip fastening.
