Best gadget I have ever bought
I have wanted this item for ages, and finally decided to purchase it, once it was on sale.It is very straight forward to use. It did take a few goes to get the flavour of the soup just right, but once I got the hang of it, the time and effort I am saving is immesurable. I am literally flinging ingredients into the soup maker and pressing start. It is a joy to use.For anyone wondering how to make soup delicious, you need lots of seasonings. In a pinch, a good stock cube, dried herbs, salt, pepper, lemon juice, olive oil are the extra ingredients needed for a decent, quick soup. If you have more time, roasting your vegetables, or browning garlic and onion BEFORE sticking it into the soup maker, makes such a difference, but 9 times out of 10 I am just whacking it all in and letting the Tefal Soup Maker do the job. Yesterdays leftover garlic potatoes or chicken thrown in, makes all the difference too.I am really pleased with both the smoothie function, and the puree function. I have always wanted to be able to make my own apple sauce (which keeps in the fridge for a week, if in an airtight container) and now I can do all of this with one gadget. The only function I am not impressed with, is the "chunky" option (or soup with pieces), as this literally just heats the ingredients up. I thought there would have been a light blending function at the end, so it resembles a soup, but although the items get cooked and soft, the end result is more like a stew. Although, in the Tefal soup makers defence, there is a blend function at your finger tips. As long as you let it blend for one cycle, and pull the plug out 1/3 of the way through, it comes out perfectly. The cleaning function is pretty good, although you will need to wipe down with a cloth in some areas, which is not the end of the world. Some maintenance is required, as with all machinery, and it's very easy to do. The water does spill over the top sometimes, when the cleaning function is running, so my tip is to fill the water under the minimum line (only for cleaning though!) and it reduces this issue. For anyone talking about the machine short-circuiting the electrics in the house - make sure you do not have this plugged into an extension chord! I had this issue with a different make and model (which I returned, not Tefal) and these machines can do this when plugged into an extension chord, or when plugged into a socket that is used by a large appliance. Try to keep the plug socket free from other devices, and this should resolve this issue.I have bought toastie makers, waffle makers, rice cookers, air fryers, but this soup maker is the only one I am consistently using on the regular. So happy with my purchase. I hope it lasts for a long time.

Ok, but not as good as I had hoped
I bought the Tefal Blender & Soup Maker Perfectmix Cook in October 2024 and was initially super pleased with it. There are a few things that could definitely be improved.I started out with steaming vegetables, smooth soups and a sauce, which all produced good results and I was able to use the self clean mode and also remove the blades to clean the jug/blades without any issues. Then I went on to do chunky soups (I've made 3) and I found that when the soup was done, there was burnt food in the bottom of the jug which can be really challenging to clean of.And while the first time using the self clean mode went OK, the last couple of times, quite a bit of soapy water came out of the top of the lid - 1st time, I was not aware that that would/could happen, as I had used less water and soap than the manual said and the water ran down the sides and ended up inside the base unit and on all the table. Last time, I had stayed close by and was able to turn the cleaning mode off, when water started coming out of the top.I can still see myself use it several times a week though.

Very handy
I had this soup maker for a few weeks now. Made cream soups spinach, butternut, carrots. It's been a great addition when I had the flu as I wasn't going to the shops.Makes delicious soup with bits, you can buy soup vegetables and voila.I used it to make coconut milk, I normally use my ninja blender and I can say it's as good as the blender and cheaper.I also used it to boil fruits with sugar and water, like to canned fruits in juice/ syrup you buy at the shop, not on the compot setting, but on the soup with pieces setting.I also made smoothy, but had to strain the bits as I used forest fruits. It's a very handy device.I burnt the soup once and left it with washing up liquid overnight and used the sponge to clean it the other day. It didn't stick afterwards. The size is perfect for me, I don't cook daily so it last me for 3 days, 3 big portions or maybe 4.It's slightly bigger than my kettle and fits well in the cupboard.I am happy with it, I would definitely buy it again.

A disappointing soupmaker
I have been using an inexpensive soup maker costing £25 Amazon best buy for about 2 years. I thought I would purchase a new, and what I thought would be a better soup maker and purchased a Tefel for £109 or over 4 times as much.I used it twice and did not find it as good as my original . The booklet showed a window on the side so you could check the level of the contents. There was no window on my soup makerSome recipes need additional ingredients to be added a few minutes from the end. On the cheaper model this can be done without ending the cooking time . When I tried this on the Tefel the machine turnd off.The self clean does not self cleanI have now gone back to my original soup maker.
