UPDUltimate Performance Elastic Laces

... I bought these as a replacement for similar laces that I had worn out...these are a different brand, I really like this style of footwear fastening, I'm not young - I have a mobility issue ( can't bend very well ), but I am very active mostly through work, spend a lot of time on my feet...right ok - so I searched for 'heavy duty' elastic laces -a few came up but by comparison these were the 'thickest' so maybe the strongest I could find...so far so good - I'm using them in my Karrimor lightweight waterproof fell boots -i would have liked them to be as robust as the original laces, however, these i can do up -the original laces I can't - so everything is a bit of a compromise...i have no idea at the moment how long these will last ?

These are so helpful to avoid doing up laces on walking/hiking boots if you have bad hips for instance. The reason I bought these is I have two bad hips, one worse than the other. Doing the laces up on my walking boots had become painful and putting the boots on had become off putting. Not now as these were recommended to me and have replaced my laces. My walking boots are Scarpa's and the upper eyelets are open so in theory the laces could fall off. My feet are size 11 and the boots are above the ankle and the laces fit easily and if anything may need to be cut to size a bit. The laces do not come off even though the eyelets are open. The really good thing is that all the adjusting can be done with the boots off. I put them on with a long shoe horn and this is possible because of the elastic nature of the laces and after putting on the boots they do not loosen or move. How you set the laces is how they stay. I have been on two walks with them now. One was only a few miles on the flat and the second a lot longer with many hilly, steep undulations.The boots did not need adjusting once. I am not sure how long the laces will last but even if I had to change these once a year then it would be worth it. That said I don't know how long they will last, it may be years. If you have restricted movement but not bad enough for an operation then I can recommend these laces for full size walking boots.

If you have difficulty pulling laces tight in trainers then these are the perfect solution. They distribute the stretch evenly throughout the lace and so you only need one easy painless pull to get a good tight fit. Revolutionised my shoes. Would not be without them

Always get the real thing which theses are. Cheap imitations are exactly that and song give the same results or satisfaction.

Unfortunately the delivery was a day late (I was sent an e-mail saying that the original delivery by amazon logistics had failed- not sure what they meant by this as I was in all day, and I already knew they had not been delivered anyway). When they were delivered the next afternoon I was sent another e-mail telling me they had been posted through my letter box. The laces themselves are an excellent product and I would recommend them for sports people or for those who have undergone a hip replacement and cannot tie laces temporarily.

An excellent and highly recommended replacement for standards laces. They are robust - it takes some meaty cutting tools to get through them, which is pretty good.The latch holds tight - i've not had to adjust them since applying themThey're unobtrusive - while they do stand out compared to normal laces, they're not that noticeable.

I had high hopes of these but they are just not up to the job. We tried them on my girl friends walking shoes and they just refused to hold fast. You can only get little tightness before they slip. Such a pity but there is just not enough grip. I guess they would be okay on something that did not need to be held fast.

I used these to put in my steel toe cap boots because I seem to be wasting a lot of my life tying/untying lacesA bit fiddly to set up and I had to hammer the open eyelets shut at the top of the boots to stop the laces falling outBut these have made a massive difference!I now just slip my boots on and off!
