100% improvement, much safer and easier night driving.
I cannot stress how much of an improvement these are over the OEM bulbs that my brand new Nissan Navara started with. Whereas the beam pattern and visual distance with the old bulbs was ropey at best, and a noticeably weak yellow hue, these replacements let you see a lot farther, with a crisp white light that lets you see much more clearly at night. Not only is the visual distance on dipped beam stronger, but also enough light radiates beyond the pattern and will thus reflect off road signs and hi-vis jackets etc letting you see potential hazards a long way off. Main beam is stronger and clearer as well. In all an easy 100% improvement over the originals. This is the second time I have bought upgrade OSRAM bulbs and I would recommend them to anyone. You can see how much clear and better the manufacture is in the bulbs themselves quite clearly. They are physically smaller and less opaque than the standard bulbs I removed. I do not know why halogen lit vehicles aren't equipped with this kind of product to start with rather than the obviously much inferior and cheaper versions so many cars seem to have.

Brilliant. About 10-20% more light on the road on low beam and about 50% more on high beam. The light is quite white which actually makes all the difference. Well worth it for me. I had Philips Xtreme Vision as well and all though they seem to put more light on the road it wasn't as white as the Osram. All and all I think it's a toss up between these two and you won't go wrong with any of them.

Short expected life.
What is not clear anywhere - until you get these bulbs - is their short expected life. When I went to open the box I noticed the diagram showing good range, yes, good brightness, yes, improved light colour, yes. Longevity, about half of a standard bulb...The nightmare to me is finding a headlamp has gone and maybe wondering how long you have been driving around like that (how many cars do you see with only one headlight - we all suffer from this problem). Maybe your partner is out with the children on a winter's evening run... To me, longevity is key with things like bulbs. It took quite a bit of surfing to find the longevity in hours. Osram do not make it easy to find. It's on independent reviews, away from Amazon. This apparently has a life of 250-300 hours, which is one of the shortest even of these premium brightness bulbs (Philips do better, about 450 hours for one of their premium bulbs). A standard bulb has a life of about 650 hours. The eco ones can go up to 1200 hours. The brightness tends to be 1550 lumens for a standard bulb against 1780 for a brighter premium bulb. I'm not sure where Osram get double the brightness from and can still claim the bulbs to be legal.Anyway, if you want a bulb to last a good long time (and I've had cars from new and gone 13 years with 10000 miles a year, all year round driving and can't remember ever using one of the spares) in my book surely standard bulbs with a long life are the thing to go for.

A significant difference from standard halogens
Bought these to replace standard bulbs. Did a lot of research and settled on these as it has a nice balance between bulb longevity and brightness. No point buying a hugely bright bulb if it burns out after 6 months. These bulbs are superb, relative to the standard halogens. Very good beam quality and length on dipped headlights and astonishingly good on main beam.Highly recommended as a step up from standard cheapo halogen lights. Wish I had done it earlier.

Brighter headlamps for Suzuki SV650S
For the money these are a great buy. Fitted to my Suzuki SV650S which has twin headlamps that are on continuously. Osram claim 110% more efficiency over a standard 55/60W bulb which is obviously difficult to prove. I initially replaced one bulb and the difference between the Night Breaker and the standard was very, very marked. A much whiter and brighter light which can only be a great help in seeing and being seen. The only downside to these will be the fact that they will not last as long (as stated by Osram). Time will tell but as the original bulbs have lasted 8 years I am quite prepared to accept this. One of the old bulbs, wrapped well and kept under the seat, will do for me in case of failure.A slightly more expensive alternative is the Philips 12342XV+S2 H4 X-Treme Vision. These are claimed as +110%. As I have another, older, SV with standard lights I have decided to equip that bike with the Philips. I will post a review on those when I have done a back to back test.

Failed after 9 months
Definitely a brighter lamp than I had previously and I was pleased with the colour and strength. However, the lamp failed after 9 months so very disappointed with that. I shall buy multiple cheaper ones now so I have spares on board. Poor that Amazon will not accept failures less than a year old given this is supposed to be a decent brand

If your car has poor headlights I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these
If your car has poor headlights I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these, these are sl;ightly updated version from what I originally purchased but oh what an improvement over standard bulbs, my originals lasted in the region of 4 years before they both went within 2 weeks of each other, so can't complain at these at all, some people complain of very short life but I didn't have that problem and I drive at least 5 days a week, no I don't use them in the summer as it's not dark, but the brighter the bulb you buy , the shorter life you can expect, I don't expect the new version Osr.am laser will last as long as these , but they're brighter than these so just balance out what you need for your driving
