Developing Three-Dimensional CAD Software with the IBM PC (Mechanical Engineering)

Average book,
Ordered this book looking for a pet project of mine. Judging from the few pages I was able to access via Google books, it seemed interesting. Well, It was a bit disappointing, because it falls short in the boolean operator department (which is my main interest): it discusses them in one chapter, without any example. Probably, if that chapter was visible in Google book, I would have not ordered it.That said, it has a nice introduction to IGES interface, which is not that common. The book shows in some aspects its age, but presented algorithms are still valid and I found them useful. Examples are in FORTRAN77 (we are now at the Fortran 2008 standard - 4th version after 77-, and the graphical part makes reference to the GKS standard. The last part of the book is devoted to assembler and FORTRAN programming on MS_DOS, which is now not really useful. Hence the 3 stars.Last comment: italian translation of 'ships from USA' is not 'navi dagli USA' as reported in Amazon.it, but 'spedito dagli USA' (=delivered from USA). Amazon should have some one verify the translations! The used copy I ordered is in good shape, and service experienced is ok.Apologizing for my poor english - I'm italian.
