I think the pockets are too small to keep healthy plant by the end of the year. I have been constantly watering these and we’re only half way through the summer, and I have it in a shade side of garden. I personally will be buying deep ones for next year. Over all I think they are a good beginners buy , not something for long term.2022 update : I have opted for metal wall planters and really won’t be spending anymore than these cost. There simply is not enough room to store enough compost to have healthy plants outdoors ( even in the shade )

These living wall pouches are an excellent innovation. I have purchased more than 20 of them and so far so good.They are expensive for what they are, but I love the finished look i have achieved after planting them.There are two negatives that I would add. The first is that the pockets could be a little bigger. I am not sure that you really need 72 pockets. After all, it is the size of the overall item that matters. Slightly larger pockets mean that you have more earth and the plants would grow more (fewer larger plants). The smaller pockets means more frequent watering, even with moisture control crystals.The second gripe is that the rings used to attach the items tot he wall are not particularly strong and several just pop out as you hang them on hooks. Still hangs, but likely to shorten the life of the item.

This does work . But I would have liked the pockets just a little bit bigger . Be prepared to water almost every day , especially if you place it in a windy , draughty spot . Starting to look good now after several weeks being planted with ferns . Was easy to fix a few hooks into a wall with wall plugs , and just hang it up . No bother .

Good product, however for the first few weeks everything kept dying and wilting extremely badly even with watering and rain, it was then discovered that the felt must of been absorbing the water, so started drenching it with the hose and now everything is flourishing and is a real eye catcher.

I brought this as I grow many herbs for my rabbits, and this is a good space saver as it is hung on my fence. I do plan to get another one. I would advise that you get a net over it while seedlings are starting off as passing birds do like to help themselves. The only downside I found was, as the pockets don't hold a huge amount of soil the soil drys up quickly. At the moment I am having to water them twice a day. I will be buying a water saving gel, this will hopefully stop the soil drying out so quickly.
