Ellie-Bo Black Divider for 30 inch Medium Dog Crate Cage

Divider is fine but it's not matched "perfectly" to a 30" crate
I like the product but it could be a bit better. The fit is OK on the 30" crate but when fitted it can distort the crate a little making the doors not lock as easily. The divider is a little loose and would have to be tightened to the crate a bit with pliers (not a big issue though, it's just for those wanting perfection, I'm sure it can be used fine as it is)My biggest problem is that with this fitted so that the crate is reduced to half size for a puppy you then aren't able to use the crate's side door.We want to fit this into a pen using 6 panels with the crate at the end so the puppy has decent space in the pen while using the side door of the create (The crate fits the pen better that way). However with the divider in we are forced to have to turn the crate round using the front door which wastes some of the pen space. The only answer is to use two dividers and put one either side of the side door creating a smaller crate in the middle. That sounds ok but in reality it starts looking a bit more like Stallag 17. The puppy won't mind but it just makes the crate look OTT. I would like to see the side door of the crate moved to one end allowing it to be used either way round with the divider in place to half the crate's size.Just a though Ellie-Bo?

Adequate, but not quite designed well enough to be a five star buy.
I'd say this is okay for the intended purpose, but as others have commented it does not fit very well leaving a bit too much clearance at the top and bottom. If you have a very boisterous puppy in this you could end up with them in the half of the crate you didn't want them to be in and since it attaches to the side gate you'll need to disassemble it in situ to get them out. However, my 8 week old Springer Spaniel puppy loves her crate and this divider is doing the job intended with this small reservation. Time will tell but she'll outgrow the need for it soon enough.Edit: 1 week later and we've found that it's necessary to use zip ties to secure the divider better if your puppy is sleeping with you in the bedroom. Otherwise you'll be woken by a very jarring 'clang' every time they move against it. For those worried about the gap under it, our pup hasn't bothered to try get under and she wouldn't fit anyway.

Perfect to keep crate cosy as puppy grows up
We decided to purchase a crate divider for our French Bulldog puppy so that we could get a crate (link below) big enough to last her until she was fully grown. If a crate is too big when puppies are very small they might be tempted to 'potty' in the far end of the crate which is not something we wanted so the divider allowed us to control the amount of space until she had grown up.The divider was easy to install and just as easy to move as she got older. There is plenty of room under the divider for a dog bed, we just used some vet fleece (link below) while she was very young and later upgraded to a plush thick mattress (link below). The crate we brought that fits the divider: Ellie-Bo Dog Puppy Cage Folding 2 Door Crate with Non-chew Metal Tray Small 24-inch Black Vet fleece: The Original Greenback Vetfleece Ideal for Dog Bedding Or Whelping Young Puppys 300CM X 75CM GREY Mattress: Ellie-Bo Dog Bed with Faux Suede and Sheepskin Topping for Dog Cage/ Crate Small 24-inch Black Hope this helps :D

Leaves gap at bottom
I ordered this to fit a Savic dog residence which, despite not being the dog crate this was designed for, is the same size to the Ellie-Bo crate (I couldn't obtain a Savic one).Unfortunately when I tried it on the crate it left a gap at either the top or bottom (depending on how it was to be installed). I was worried this could cause a choke risk to my puppy so asked the supplier for a refund. They said it was to fit a bed underneath but I still think a puppy could have become trapped if they tried to burrow under.I received a refund but had the postage deducted.

Do not buy
This should not be allowed to be on sale for dogs. Please do not buy. The divider does not reach the top of the crate so there is quite a large gap and dread to think what could happen to a dog or puppy if was left unattended in crate. I'm in process of returning and buying a smaller crate to use with my puppy which defeats the object but rather have my puppy safe

Satisfied so far.
This divider has worked so far to make my crate smaller for new Cockapoo puppy. Not sure if it is robust enough for larger more powerful breeds but it’s done the job so far. A bit fiddly to fit and can’t use the main door for access.

Dangerous
We have recently bought the 24inch crate for our new puppy and purchased the divider. Unfortunately it leaves a gap at bottom and an approx 2.5" gap at the top. Our puppy managed to climb the divider and go through the gap at the top and into the separate part of the crate. This could have been incredibly dangerous. I do not understand the point of the gap. Will be looking to purchase one that divides fully. Crate itself is great but divider not fit for purpose.

Yes, it is fiddly, but there is a trick!
After contacting amazon customer service for instructions, and reading the reviews, I was sure I was going to return as I couldn't get the divider installed into my 24 inch crate! But the trick to installing is to put your crate on its side, with the wider door facing the ceiling. Then you can use the palm of your hand to push this wider side towards to the floor (even just a few mm) to get the divider close enough to the side of the crate, to hook on to the crate!Hope helps! To remove, I did the same thing. For the "gap" at the bottom, just install the divider lower! So one of the bottom hooks of my divider doesn't actually hook onto anything. but its fine!
