A good first Uke
This was my first Ukulele, and although it doesn't feel all that good compared to Ukes since this one, it was a perfectly decent one to get myself started. I have 6 now, not including this one, onwards and upwards, slowly but surely!Easily a decent first Uke. Even if it's your first, I'd recommend loading it up with different strings, shop around... that's something worth knowing how to do anyway. I think it comes with Aquila strings, just a basic set, but you can get a lot better if you want to start taking the instrument seriously. Will make all the difference.I actually gave this Uke away in the end to a 7 year old cousin of mine, a few months ago, and have only just started to teach her how to play it properly. I heard reports that it's been everywhere with her, and it's been subjected to a wealth of child inflicted trauma, and it's still in reasonable nick, playable, and holding it together with it's original strings. I'll change them for her when she's a little more proficient.Anyway, it's quite alright for twenty something pounds!

DO NOT BUY
This is a terrible product. Got for my daughter for Christmas. Strings weren't in the right place. When my husband tried to re-string ukulele strings snapped! Took ukulele to music shop near us and guy told us this ukulele wasn't worth a fiver and it's more of an ornament. Even if we put new strings on it, it wouldn't of tuned properly. Also the top string kept buzzing when played and guy at shop said it was because it was so cheap!!!! Don't buy this product. It's not worth the money you pay for it. Luckily I was able to get my daughter a replacement from the music shop which is obviously far superior!!! Wouldn't let me put no stars so begrudgingly put one. I'm not impressed.

Great for the price, be patient when tuning
I've played the guitar for 20 years and decided I'd like to give the Ukulele a try. This seemed an ideal starter ukulele, not too expensive but looked decent enough. When you first get it it's a pain to tune because the strings are loose and then it loses tune quickly but this pretty much happens with any new instrument with new strings and you do get there in the end. The strings will stretch and adjust and once you've had the uke a while they'll be fine, be patient. I'd recommend picking up a digital tuner just because it makes life easier (I got one for £5). You get a bag, felt plectrum and spare strings in the bag. Maybe I'll replace the strings in the future but these ones are fine to learn on. Honestly for what I paid (£20) it's a great starter ukulele. If you find yourself becoming a ukulele pro you can always get a more professional expensive one down the line but this is perfectly functional for beginners and casual musicians. I like it a lot

A very good Ukulele but I was unlucky with my Tuner that developed a fault!
This is going to be a review in progress. This Ukulele arrived well packed and feels like very good quality and looks great! (definitely well suited as a gift)However the bag included with the Uke is very thin and will protect against dust and rain - made from thin raincoat like material however considering the very low price, one cannot complain and it was good of them to include some form of cover and protection.Unfortunately my supplied Tiger tuner later developed a fault. However at first it worked a treat! I was double checking myself using youtube as well as using the included tuner that got my new ukulele perfectly tuned at first! Mind you I did need to stretch out the strings when tuning it, giving the tuner knobs many twists before reaching a perfect tone. It seems the strings must have been deliberately shipped in a loose condition to preserve them, ready for tuning with the brilliant and simple to use tuner included - so you will need to tune this Ukulele first thing out of the box.21/2/2018Unfortunately today while using the Tiger tuner supplied with the Uke, I couldn't reach a C note (on the second string) I spent a long time trying to achieve a C note but the tuners display jumped continuously from B to D! However the tone sounded correct as I was double checking myself on youtube. So I dug out my old tuner- it displayed the C note immediately upon playing the second string! This meant the supplied Tiger tuner has developed a fault and now unreliable! The Ukulele as I said before is very good and looks great!I was unlucky with the supplied tuner! So I talked to Amazon over the phone and they where very understanding and helpful!

Poorly made and not comfortable to play
I'm an experienced guitar player and have played ukuleles beforeI'm surprised this one is rated 5*, it's poorly made, where the head meets the neck it overlaps slightly so when you play it catches on the inside of your hand and after a couple minutes leaves you quite soreI wouldn't recommend this, it's not comfortable to play and will leave you sore; shouldn't have to develop new calluses to make up for badly made productIt also really really struggles to stay in tune

Remember to stretch the strings!
I suspected when reading the reviews that all those one-star ones came from people who didn't realise nylon strings need to be stretched before they'll hold their tuning. I'm glad that I was right. Just tune them up, gently tug them away from the body, moving your hand up and down to make it even. Be careful not to tug too hard and stress the nut (where strings go over from the neck onto the headstock). Retune, repeat. You should be able to hear the note dropping as you play the string. Just keep doing it until it stays steady, then do the rest of the strings, then back to the first one. It will need retuning every now and then after that but it shouldn't be far off. If you're giving it as a gift, do it before you wrap it up.As for the thing itself, it came with a minor scuff on the fretboard and a bit of a glue trail inside, but they're minor, it's a cheap instrument, and it's for a 3rd birthday gift so it's no problem. The star taken off was partially for that, but mainly because the red one cost £10 more than the other colours. Trust my nephew to love my red guitar and write a song on it whose title and most of the lyrics were 'red', so my hands were tied on colour choice.
