As quck as a teabag - recommended
This is a great product. I have been using it for a few days and I have to say it's as quick as using a teabag. I use it with standard black breakfact tea (Yorkshire tea to be exact). One teaspoon in the strainer, boiling water in and by the time I've opened the fridge and got the milk out the tea is brewed enough for me. There are a couple of negatives as follows. We have quite large mugs in our house and the tabs on the top of the strainer only just reach across the top, sometimes if the water is poured in too vigorously the strainer will fall into the cup. it's not really a problem as the thing is quite tall and just rests on the bottom of the cup,, but it is irritating. Secondly, and this does not bother me but, if using black tea rather than herbal tea DO expect a bit of tea dust residue in the bottom of the cup. To me this does not speak of a fault with the strainer, more about the quality of the tea we have in the UK, too much tea dust. Tea leaves do not get out, just the dust. When it comes to emptying most of the tea falls out with a sharp tap, into a block rather like you get from an expresso machine, but you do need to rinse the last little bit away before reuse.

Perfect for loose tea
Bought it to use in a mug at work but as it arrived a glass infuser from my small glass teapot got smashed and I started using this one instead. The mesh is very fine letting almost nothing through which is great as many other infusers I used before failed here miserably. I don't use the infuser's lid in the teapot as it makes the whole thing pop out of the teapot, I just put the teapot lid which fits quite well but allows for enough steam to escape to keep the whole thing submerged. And as an added bonus, it also fits my large teapot so no more mess there clearing loose tea from the teapot. I'm so pleased with this infuser that I now purchased another one for use in a mug at work, as originally intended. Not sure about other comments about not fitting the cups, etc. It fits a typical mug perfectly, the dims of the product are given so where these surprises come from? Excellent product, highly recommended.

An excellent tea infuser!
Having recently bought an infuser teapot that I liked, I found that I wanted one that I could use in a mug, or in an ordinary teapot; this one is just the job.It is of good construction, infuses the tea well, it sits very nicely in a variety of different shaped cups and mugs, and will also sit nicely in an ordinary teapot whist the tea brews; you can put the lid on so that the tea remains as hot as possible whilst brewing too!Being able to use the lid as a drip tray is also very handy whatever you're making your tea in, cup, mug, or pot.To clean, I just tap out the used tea leaves, then rinse and dry - very straightforward, and it makes using leaf tea almost as easy as using a teabag.

Fits up to 3 inch wide mugs , good price
If you use tea leaves, then go for it but just take care about the size. These fits mugs of up to 3 inches diameter and easily fits on a teapotThe top makes the brewing quicker and then you can use it as a receptacle for the strainer to prevent drips over any surface. It is too small for some of the mugs (please see the photo)You can make drip coffee in there and if you cover the inside with kitchen towel then there will not be any sediment left in the cup.Good price (I purchased it when it was on sale). As I had it for a week only ,cannot rate durability at this point

Makes a good cuppa
I got this infuser as I wanted to stop using teabags when making a mug of tea. Am happy to say it works very well. Easy to use, quick rinse after used leaves put in food waste and ready to go again. The stainless steel does discolour over time but with a dip in baking soda and water, it's as good as new. Several people have commented that you get leaves in the bottom of cup but this is normal. Mass produced tea leaves are very dried and small so create dust which fall through the infuser holes during use. Surely not a deal breaker for a superior tasting and environmentally better cuppa?!

Brilliant - Even the smallest of tea leaves wont get into your drink but all the flavour does.
Very pleased with this. I prefer loose leaf tea to teabags but quite often I don't want to make a pot of it so this gadget is ideal for just one or two cups. I think it is absolutely brilliant. It is a nice looking well made item and the holes are very fine so even the smallest of tea leaves wont get into your drink but all the flavour does. This is my third tea infuser and it is by far the best one. Yes the others may have been cheaper but were nowhere near as good. I know some people have said that it does not fit their mugs but with respect they must be using plus sized mugs. I am using it with a standard sized mug with an outside diameter of 8 cm and a height of 9cm and it is fine on this. I would recommend it and would buy again if needed but looking at the quality I think this will last a long time.

Useful
Good for a cup of tea.A bit narrow for mugs, only just fits.Need to dry before it cleans as the leaves stick in the little holes.

Great for lovers of fresh brewed loose leaf teas
I bought this for brewing loose leaf teas. It's great, easy to clean. The only reason I have given 4* is that it only 'just' fits my mug as the arms could do with being a little bit longer so it tends to tilt on one side when I pick up the mug. Other than that, the holes are nice and fine so brews well with very little getting through into the drink.
