Life Changing
Some people can be slow starters in the morning, and it can take a while before they're able to focus. I suffer from this condition to an absurd degree, and if I get up at 8:00am it can take me until 3:00pm before I'm able to concentrate on work. Often I'd fall asleep on the desk and would generally get nothing done until the evening. By evening time I'd feel sharp as a knife and would reach peek productivity. To take advantage of this productive period I'd often end up going to bed very late, which would make it all the harder to get started the next morning.I discovered caffeine tablets by pure accident, and thought I'd give them a try. I've never drunk caffeinated beverages, so I hadn't experienced the effects of caffeine before. I can only say that the benefits have been life changing. After taking a tablet in the morning I feel extremely alert and able to concentrate on work. Not only has my concentration improved considerably, but I now have less of a tendency to fall asleep during the day. As a result I've gained hours of additional productivity each day, which has considerably improved my life. There are a few minor side-effects. One is that I have the need to evacuate my bowls not long after taking the tablet. I'd actually say this is a positive benefit, as it keeps you more regular. Caffeine is a common ingredient in diet pills, and I suspect the reason is because it has you going the toilet, which reduces the time your body has to absorb calories from food. Another side effect is that it does give you the shakes, and I can't hold my hand stable after taking a tablet. At worst this is a minor inconvenience. The worst side-effect is that it can accentuate a feeling of nervousness. I'm of a fairly nervous disposition to begin with, and these tablets tend to exaggerate that, which is a bit of a problem. However, I'd say the benefits far exceeds the drawbacks.Researching how many to take, I found that Health Canada advises a daily intake of no more than 400mg of caffeine. It's therefore best not to take more than two tablets per day, but the beneficial effects can last hours, so this is probably enough to get most people through the day.Prolab TabletsAddressing the Prolab tablets specifically, I have tried a number of brands of caffeine tablet and, while more expensive, these seem to be the most effective. Although most caffeine tablets only contain 200mg of caffeine, they typically weight 400mg. I assume the extra ingredients are to hold the caffeine together in a tablet form. Trying other brands, I found the caffeine was not evenly distributed between the tablets, so some would be very strong while others would have little effect. With the Prolab tablets the caffeine seems evenly distributed so each tablet has a similar effect. A second advantage of the Prolab tablet is that they dissolve extremely fast, which allows them to take effect sooner. If you leave one in your mouth with some water, it will dissolve completely within about 30 seconds, so you can just swallow the water if you don't like swallowing tablets. With other tablets I found I had to chew them to get them to dissolve. If you're a slow starter in the morning and haven't tried caffeine, I would strongly recommend you give these a go. Other tablets are effective, but the Prolab tablets seem to be about the best. I only wish I'd discovered them a long time ago.

Pretty Good
So after years of off and on searching of reasonably priced Pre Workout Shots with a higher caffeine content….I found theseI had always wanted to avoid ‘caffeine tablets’ and justified the ridiculous amount ofIntake by using the shots especially formulated shots but they have become SO expensive and hard to find (the ones which taste half ok) I went in search of an alternative, and I ordered these on Thursday, they arrived Friday then I took one half an hour before my Saturday morning Body Pump class - no rushes no jitters just strength and energy brilliant, I am chuffed at how much I will be saving using these instead of shots. Also must add I usually have a kip in the afternoon as I only work mornings and I didn’t need one I kept going all day up until I finally need an early night at 9.30. I have slept much much better and feel refreshed this morning. They don’t really taste of anything, I expected them to taste bitter but they don’t !Therefore easier to swallow as I could take one without water if needed!I will see how they work long term

Does the job required
Took two. Didn't seen to be working so took two more. 30 minutes later I was off my tits. Took ages to "come down from the caffeine rush". Would definitely purchase again

It works
What people will want to know about this is: "Does it work? Is there caffeine in there?". Well, nothing I say should be taken as encouraging anyone to exceed the stated dose of one tablet. But it was important to test these properly, so I took about 1.6 tablets (cutting one for this purpose). I know how much caffeine I can comfortably tolerate: 225mg (taken as Pro Plus). After around a hour my toes were tapping and twitching, heart beating strongly, and I was 100% awake. Had to take diazepam to control the effects. Test result clear: these ARE bona fide caffeine, one tablet equivalent to about two cups of strong coffee.

They are what they are, which is all you can ask
These are 200mg caffeine tabsOther reviews from people claiming products are under dosed make little sense to me, as caffeine is EXTREMELY cheap so the cost for the whole pot would pennies. It would cost more to press and tub the tablets than the caffeine would cost.Anyway, these are fully dosed and do what they do.

No difference
Didn't feel any effects. Took 2 tablets and I was still fighting to stay awake during a long drive home.

Pretty strong
Better than coffee, I feel the effects within 20 to 30 minutes on average. I can take one without feeling many effects consciously, it only serves to wake me up and make me "fresh". If I take two when I'm really tired I'll actually start to feel jittery just the slightest amount, but it definitely has a more pronounced "freshness" effect. Gets me through the day when I need to get work done.Half-life of caffeine is about 5 hours on average, but I feel the effects fade drastically after the 3rd hour.I don't recommend taking more than two, as the side effects start to outweigh the beneficial focus effects and you won't feel very well.
