This 'Old Faithful' Hardwood pick handle was bought for an even more old faithful, 40 year old, rusted Mattock head. And fits a treat! With a little sanding my old Mattock now is almost good as new.This handle is well made and I'm sure will fit most pick or mattock heads - the internal diameter of my mattock head is 70mm. A good price too for a product that feels right in the hand, no danger of splinters [because of the quality], looks good and I know will enable my mattock at least another 40 years' use! Well done Quikfast.Delivery was after the advised date ... but sure that was not the fault of Quikfast, rather RMail. Excellent!

Needed this for my pick head sat in the shed for 20 years. This product is good quality hardwood, shaped to suit any standard pick I would say and sturdy construction. Fitted really well and didn't have to cut off much. Perhaps an improvement might be to supply the metal wedges for the indentations on the head to tighten the whole thing, but apart from that happy. Some might want to coat the wood, but it will in time take on its own patina (and dirty hand marks)

The finish isn't great but mine had no knots and no splits so perfectly sturdy and fits the pick head well. I ran a sander over it and treated it with boiled linseed oil to improve the feel. It won't be left in the rain and will get limited diy use so fits my needs really well.

I managed to snap a fibreglass handle and replaced it with this wooden one, it feel much stronger with no flex and can tell it will last a long time!

Bought this to replace the broken shaft on my mattock and was immediately impressed by the fit and finish.Hardwood, good fit and handle length all at a great price and next day delivery, brilliant. Cant testify to longevity but can't see why it won't last as long as the other ( or longer ) depending on usage, great so far!

Only had this a few weeks and already put it through it paces, paired it with a silver line head and expansion pins.So far it’s been an excellent buy, had to sand it down a bit as the finish out the factory left room for improvement but overall hard to find fault.

Hardwood handle that's the right length and shape and fits my pick head. But a nasty knot and gouge will weaken it.

Excellent quality.I suggest a gentle rub down with sandpaper and apply some boiled linseed oil for the perfect finish.

I advise the company not to use DHL for delivery any more they are terrible and disrespectful. but the product was great

Handle is as expected. The finish on the handle itself is a little rough so I plan on sanding the coating off and re-vanishing the handle again to make it last longer. I will need to reshape this handle for it to fit my old Pick Hoe (Japanese style) which has a tapered rectangle head on it.
