Dimplex Stockbridge Optiflame Electric Stove, High Gloss Black Enamel Style Freestanding Fire with LED Flame Effect, Opening Doors, Artificial Log or Coal Fuel Beds, 2kW Heater and Remote Control

I wasn’t sure if I had made the right decision when I ordered this Dimplex Electric Stove because it seemed quite expensive compared to other stoves on the market, but I was persuaded by the positive reviews and I am so glad I took the time to read them. The stove looks fantastic and fitted into our little space perfectly, looking as though it had always been there. The effect is very pleasing to the eye and when the light is on, it looks very much like the real thing. We have recently downsized into a very small apartment and this was what was needed to provide a focal point in our living room. It stands out for all the right reasons and I am amazed at the warm feeling it provides when just the light is switched on. We purchased this stove in the middle of December and haven’t yet needed to turn on the heater because it feels so warm just seeing the logs or coals burning. When the heater is switched on, it only emits a very quiet humming sound, which is not distractive to me.The stove comes with the logs fitted and I asked my husband to try installing the coals instead. I had read that it can be a challenging job to change the logs, but my husband followed the instructions and used the supplied plastic glove to put the coals in place. Even with the glove on, he still got covered in the black dust, but he had been prepared for that and had placed an old towel on the floor to protect the carpet. He actually found it very straight forward to complete the change over, but I think I preferred the stove with the logs. The logs are higher up and fill the stove a bit more and I personally feel they look more realistic because parts of them appear to glow and flicker when the light is on. I think I will leave it a while before telling my husband I want to revert back to the logs though, because he wanted the logs to remain in the first place! The high polished effect does mean that finger marks stand out a bit, but it’s worth the extra polishing because it is such a stunning effect. I think that this stove looks very contemporary in my living room and has provided me with the desired effect. I decided to order a chimney and hearth which has completed and enhanced the overall appearance. TI think this stove is worth the money and I am a very happy customer.

Having had an optymyst fire and getti g fed up with replacing water, transducers and cleaning it , looked at this fire and was pleasanyptly surprised!The flame effect is quite realistic and doesnt require msintenanceThe remote control is tiny though and could easily get lostOverall a good looking snd efficient fire

This is a lovely fire and well worth the money paid for it. It is solidly built and is quite heavy at approx 30kgs. The finish is a perfect gloss finish and really sets things off a a focal point. There is a slight hum coming from it as mentioned by others, but this is only noticeable if you stand right next to it and have good hearing, but again barely audible. The remote unit is very easy to use just the one button the press for display and heating and one to turn it off. I have left the log effect in at the moment, but did try the coal effect as others have said that it is a little tricky to remove. The trick is not so much of a complication but the need to handle the log effect fairly carefully as it is not too robust and could be damaged if you are a little to careless or hasty in its removal,

Overall, this is a nice and substantial looking metal/ glass heater and was the perfect size for our inglenook fireplace but is too glossy for me; I would prefer a matte finish but this was not an option. As mentioned by some other reviewers, the coal effect looks much better to me than the log effect which looks artificial and has red glitter on it- not a great look! As you might see from my question, I had considerable problems removing the log effect piece despite following the instructions. Another reviewer mentioned the need to remove screws from the back but this is incorrect. You only need to remove the three front screws and then lift the front area whilst pushing down heavily on the back area until it unhooks and comes out easily. If you do not push down hard enough, it will appear stuck as though still attached via rear screws. The orange bed that the coals lie on glows when switched on and looks like coals burning underneath so long as the top coals are dense enough to cover it well. I intend buying more as these ones were barely sufficient. Only the bottom area heats up as this is the fan heater and makes a quiet noise, which is not a problem as the TV audio covers it well.Dimplex customer service via email form was very responsive and helpful and offered for the technical team to call me as per my request as I was not prepared to pay the 7p per minute call charge plus network fees to fix a problem that was due to rather unclear instructions (as I'm not the only reviewer to have problems removing the log effect).The heater seems efficient, warms the large living room quickly and the stove doors close together very smoothly and appears well made. I have decided not to keep the dimplex stove pipe ordered at the same time as it had a matte finish and did not go well with the glossy stove finish, although the size was fitting (wider than I expected). I think the stove looks better by itself.

C'est vraiment bluffant. Je rêvais d'une cheminée à Noël mais impossible d'en avoir en appartement, j'ai donc opté pour ce poêle à bois électrique. Le corps est en fonte. Ça ne fait pas plastique du tout. Bien sûr si l'on s'approche, on voit bien que les bûches sont fausses mais c'est très bien fait. Il fait illusion et je suis ravie. Il est encore plus beau que j'imaginais. Je recommande chaleureusement.
