Nest Stand for Learning Thermostat, 3rd Generation

I've been interested in the idea of a 'Smart Home' for a while now and have been researching which one I thought would be the best for my needs. I had almost decided on the 3rd generation Nest and asked my brother-in-law for his advice as he is a domestic electrician and I wondered if he had ever fitted one. His response 'Ah the Nest, the king of thermostats' was enough to make me hit the buy it now button instantly!So you get the extremely well packaged Nest in an attractive box which opens to reveal the thermostat itself looking up at you. Its a fairly chunky, extremely attractive piece of kit which is handy because having read up about it I decided not to put it out in the hall where my old thermostat is, but in the living room. I also bought the stand and it now sits on the bookshelf right near where I sit. I may eventually have it mounted to a wall but to be honest it looks fine where it is.You also get the box that goes upstairs near the heating & hot water controls, it took about 30 mins to be all connected and set up, and another 10 to get the app sorted.I LOVE this thermostat. It runs perfectly, is so easy to set up and is actually 'smart'. If I leave the house it says 'oh she's not here so there's no point keeping the heating on' and then when I get back it will turn it on again, it's so simple. Every day I can look at the app and see when the heating was on the previous day, I can see what it's planning for the week ahead, I can adjust it or let it run itself. If I want to I can control the heating at home from anywhere in the world. It's simply brilliant.

I had to move my thermostat from its original location on the wall, I didn't want to drill moe holes in my wall so thought this would be a good solution.As with the Nest thermostat itself this stand is very high quality. Everything from the packaging to the stand itself seems premium. The stand has a good weight to it which is important as you don't want the thermostat sliding around on the sideboard,This stand for the third generation is white rather than having a chrome finish on the front like the previous version, I assume this is because the Nest thermostat now comes in multiple colours and it is easier to create a single stand which will work with all colours. I think I would have preferred a chrome finish but it still looks very nice on the sideboard.Opening the package you find the stand, a couple of screws and the instructions in the box, installation is easy, you plug the original USB cable that came with the Nest thermostat into the back of the thermostat, you then use the two screws provided to secure the thermostat to the stand, that's it!Overall I am very impressed with the stand. I do think it is quite expensive for what it is though, I think £20 would be a more palettable price point.

Great product, Stylish to look at, easy to programme and use. Works with our Alexa. Phone App allows for total control from either your armchair , or before you leave for home. Making it snug and warm by the time you get back. Eco start learns how long it takes the home to reach the desired temperature.The metal stand I feel is over priced. It is purely a piece of metal, nothing electronic , no leads.Simply an expensive but convenient way to use the system.

Bought it last autumn and it just sat on my office drawer before I had the time to install it a week ago. Was really no pressure since I'd already had a functional wireless programmable thermostat made by Salus. Installation time for my Viessmann Vitodens 050 took less then 15 minutes, and I'm not a boiler pro. Just connect the Heatlink OpenTherm OT1 & 2 to your heater's OT +/-, screw in 2 110/220V wires to N/L connector, start the thermostat and you'r all set. I've also bought a stand for my nest, as I wanted to be able to quickly move it around the house, so no wall drilling was involved. Just brilliant appliance and gorgeous looks.

Had to get someone in to install this and took a while to settle in. Easy to use and connect to Alexa for voice control

The Nest Stand is a near essential purchase unless you either spend money (or time if you're handy) channelling in power to a wall mounted Nest Thermostat or have a cable dangling down the wall. The stand is an elegant solution, but perhaps pricey for what it is. This is an official Nest product - so that's where the inflated value comes in, £15 is just about okay, the £30 RRP is excessive. Due to the limited mounting options for the average consumer, it would have been nice for this to be included with the Nest Thermostat itself rather than a paid accessory.It's very solid, has an minimalist but elegant design and very much does what it's designed to do. Extra value could have been achieved by including an extra power cable, but alas that's not to be. There aren't many options out there for Nest stands so it's tough not to recommend it, I just feel this is closer to essential accessory rather than a luxury one so would have liked it included with the Nest Thermostat to begin with.In the box:StandInstructionsScrewsPros:Looks good.Very solid.Cons:Price.No additional power cable.

While installing a new boiler and Nest system we suddenly realised that we didn't want the Nest on the wall but would like the ability to make it mobile so we could have it anywhere.This stand is perfect and the Nest just snaps into place and is held firmly due to the solid nature of the plastic. Now we are able to move the thermostat into the room we want to keep at the correct temperature.Yes it's a lot of money for a stand but it really does make the thermostat mobile and means we are heating rooms much more efficiently now.

Le socle est parfait, d'excellente fabrication, très stable et parfaitement adapté pour le Nest Learning.Le seul bémol , c'est pour le Nest, pas d'autonomie batterie, ce qui oblige de le placer à proximité d'une prise secteur.

Parfaitement adapté au thermostat. Une fois mis en place, il y tient très bien. Et ne gêne pas l'utilisation de la molette rotative.Dommage qu'il soit si cher.

Produit 100 •/• compatible puisque marque nest!!! Produit de qualité avec des matériaux de qualité. Prix un peu élevé mais pas le choix!!

La gaine fixée au mur étant in-aiguillable (merci l'artisan qui m'a fait cette vacherie : on ne coupe pas une gaine à aucun moment !) il a fallut se rabattre à poser le thermostat à même la commode, et là surprise, on ne peut pas sans acheter ce socle complémentaire et loin d'être donné !!!
